I am a fragrance junkie but just discovered Not a Perfume. I tried it in Sephora and fell in love. I smell it when I first spray but then it seems to disappear until my skin warms up and I catch lovely wafts of it. Even when I couldn’t smell it a student said I smell good. I enjoyed your review. Now I’m curious about the other scents you mentioned.

You can buy ambroxan on it's own - in a brown chemist's style bottle - at around £21 per 100ml on Ebay - cetalox & ambroxan are all Molecule 02 & smell exactly the same; & it is far cheaper than Not A Perfume or Molecule 02 (they smell identical) so it's a lot cheaper than giving JHAG your money - you can put it in a 10 or 12ml (or larger) atomiser/perfume spray - Shein sell them for about 2.99, I buy the plain, matte silver bottle. I also dilute my own Molecule 01/Iso E Super ,z that I hv to buy pure & dilute with Perfumier's alcohol - but the Molecule 02/ambroxan, you just pop it into a spray bottle, as easy as pie (wear glasses when pouring it, just in case of any splash back.)🤗💜🙏💜

Great review! I’ll need to try Juliet has a gun and glossier. I love Molecule 01!! I wear it daily with my scent of the day.

i remember my first experience with a molecule perfume.. i was in elementary school and my mom gave me a perfume that she said has no smell from the bottle, but will react with my own body chemistry.. and i remember that it really smelled just like water or paper... my mom said it smelled like musk on me, or whatever... but i was then again, I was too young to appreciate it.. then fast forward to my co worker wearing Molecule 01... i have a current co worker who wears it too, and it smells kinda similar to my other coworker, only that with the former, the scent has a slight sweetness to it. on her, it is more of a woody, and finally i got it, pencil shaving kinda smell... i did try to wear mine at home, but i guess it is just not for me... i tried layering it with something else, but i can't be bothered to do so LOL i still have my bottle though, coz who knows, maybe i will be loving it in the future... :)

Wow, that is amazing your mom already introduced you! And I get what you mean, I had to work with Molecule 01 and really prefer it layered with something else. Maybe try it with Un Bois Vanille in the Winter 😉

JHAG NAP was traditionally my choice of yoga/gym fragrance but recently I discovered Calvin Klein Woman has a similar if not stronger effect. Unlike JHAG it does not disappear but has that same radiating wafting presence. It has ambroxan in the base plus obvious citrus notes which makes it smell fresh and clean. Having said that NAP will always be in my collection. I even have a back up bottle.

had a sample of glossier, loved it, but it's so hard to ship it to my country. thinking about getting the other two instead, hope i like them just as much

my #1 fave perfume is the better version of glossier you- fleur de peau!

I love Molecule 01 and Not a Perfume. At first sniff, I didn't get the hype but now they are favourites. I feel like Molecule 01 is not only lovely on its own, but I can also layer it with other fragrances to tone things down that are too much for one reason or another. It's so grounding to me. I've tried other Escentric Molecules fragrances and enjoyed them, but none of them knock Molecule 01 off its throne ;-) I have two perfume sample from the brand "Essential Faith" that I think are molecular, but I haven't worn them enough to have strong feelings about them yet. I'd love to try some fragrances by Aether Parfums, too.

Got Mol. 01 + Mandarin today. Love it.

JHAG is my choice to not only wear alone but to layer with almost anything to make the scent last longer..

I just recently got a sample set of Juliette has a gun perfumes, including not a perfume. I had owned glossier you for a few years. When I sprayed NAP I was shocked how much it smelled like my glossier you perfume!

Interesting! They are super different on me and even the notes / ingredients are nothing alike 🙈☺️ goes to show how our own chemistry really plays a huge part in the perfume experience.

I also got a sample size of NAP, and I fell IN LOVE. But as the scent stayed on me for a bit, I noticed it started to smell A LOT like Glossier You! Crazy huh..

I got it but not to use it on its own, but to layer with my favorite perfumes that are quite fade. Ambroxan is said to potent other perfumes, so i hope that this time, my favourite perfumes will last and project 😂

I have been searching to replace my soul lifting perfume since the early 2010s. I ADORED philosophy Pure Grace. And those of us that swore by it since day one, KNOW that Coty changed the formulation & ruined this secret treasure. Not a perfume filled me with happiness initially, but after several years I was left lacking. Molecule 01 I cannot smell. Maya base oil got me excited again. Very clean like my beloved pure grace. But I hate oil. Using my otherwise useless Molecule 01 I layer it with Maya to amplify its projection. Also riddle original. Even with spray lotion & the oil, I can hardly detect it. Glossier You is the only one I've found so far thar cones close. Yet, NOWHERE have I found the heavy, intoxicating joy of the old Pure Grace. 😔

Always disappointing when our favourites change

I looove both but I prefer Juliette has a Gun to Molecule 01. In the drydown Molecule 01 smells too masculine on me.

I'm receiving Molecule 01 + Mandarin tomorrow. It was an online blind buy ... no risk, no fun.😅 But I guess I'm going to like it because of the ISO E Super. One of my signatures is Terre d'Hermès, and this also contains Iso E Super, amongst many other things. I like this "understatement statement" kind of scents sometimes when I don't wear niche fragrances from PDM or Initio. It always depends on my mood, on the purpose, and of course on the season. I could imagine wearing Mol. 01 + Mandarin to the gym, or simply in warmer months, but let's see...

@@StudioxYasmin Got it 2 hours ago, and immediately tried it. Loving it so far. I don’t know whether I can smell the ISO E Super (some seem to be anosmic to it, and I’m not sure how it smells), but I can definitely smell the fresh & juicy mandarin.

… and after 4 hours I went to the gym. HIIT on the treadmill. 🥵 Wow … I could run in my own scent bubble, I could always smell the mandarin in a very fresh and pleasant way. So, it’s also great to wear to the gym. 💪👍

The Molecule + flankers don't come anywhere close to the original Molecule 01!

a lot of people have said that glossier you kind of smells like pencil shavings which turns them off, and i agree when i first put it on! but it mellows out very quickly and melts into my skin… not sure about the staying power because i can’t tell if my nose just adjusts to it or if it’s actually gone, but i reach for it daily 💪

Every molecular fragrance tries to be like Molecule 01! it's the OG!

All the more reason to try it first since it changes based on body chemistry. I’m confused about Glossier - says it stays the same but I don’t think it does?

Glossier has both non-molecular and molecular compounds, so the effect of the molecules is not the same as if it was only those molecules that depend entirely on your chemistry

I combine JHAG with weak fragrances and it fills a room !!! I was so surprised of the reactions i got. My next purchase would be M01

@@dianeharrison4975 I just got it and it smells definitely musky floral and I love it BUT I feel like it's not strong at all. It's like only a scent you smell when you hug someone closely. Did you notice this?

Hi! Did you end up liking You by Glossier?

I tried Juliette has a gun not a perfume and the smell is really strong and way too heavy on me. It's everything but fresh! It smells a little bit like an old aunt who wears a lot of heavy makeup and heavy jewelry but not in a powdery way, I don't know if it makes any sense. I feel like I smell dirty after putting it on, like I didn't take a shower for a couple of days and I was just applying layers of perfume to cover the smell. Anyway, be careful it doesn't go well with everyone!

I sprayed it on a blotter in Sephora and was repulsed by the smell. It also smelled dirty to me, almost animalic or like BO. Didn’t want to try it on my skin after that, lol. Have you tried Glossier You? Curious how they compare to you.

This might be a stupid question, but then these should NOT be sprayed directly on your clothing, right? On my clothes, it just ends up musky.

I personally only spray the Glossier one on clothing, as it has added notes :)

Thats funny i also use that JHAG not a perfume at the gym

I have a small sample of not a perfume and I can barely smell it 😢, but I have You as a solid perfume and I'm so in love with it

I am fascinated by all the people saying Not a Perfume smells lovely on them. It smells dirty and almost animalic on me. Not sure what that says about my natural pheromones 😂 My face scrunches up every time I smell it. Molecule 02 is similar but not as repulsive to me. Glossier you is different from the other two. To me it smells more like a straight musk.
