I found the compliments started to flow after most of the masks came off. I get a compliment from just about anything I wear, to be honest. I am pretty confident in all my fragrance choices. If I love it someone is going to say something nice. It is also nice to see an array of new and wonderful scents.

Lately I get compliments when I wear Delina, Jo Malone Mimosa and Cardamom layered with The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods, and Libre Intense!

Glossier has the best sillage and projection absolutely a compliment magnet

I just LOOOVE Velvet Tonka and You. MUST try the others

Most complimented for me would be Lavande in Love by Bastide Aix en Provence (mainly because it's fresh and inoffensive and I think that my colleagues are a little bit fed up with the heavy hitters 😂) and of course Levant... maybe for the same reasons, it's a really nice and pleasant scent!

I've been complimented on Chanel 5, Gris Charnel, Chloe Nomad, Jo Loves Red Truffle, Bewitching Jasmine, Delina...that's all I can remember now.

I get compliments on Ex Nihilo's (Lust) In Paradise. And these are really just a bonus - I find myself smiling whenever I spray this perfume; simply makes me so happy!

Was expecting the second BDK to be Rouge Smoking. I think that one is also very much worth. Both of the Gris Charnels and Rouge Smoking. I didn't like Velvet Tonka when I tried it, but I haven't had my sample for quite a while now and was more new to the game when I first tried BDK. My most complimented of the year, either Angels Share or Sedley. But context matters a lot since social circle fragrances are more likely to pull in a compliment than a fresh gym fragrance.

You’re so pretty and classy. My most complimented perfumes are Chanel coco mademoiselle (not re purchased in years but I got lots of compliments) Kilian Rolling in Love, also the Jimmy Choo one, Tom Ford Velvet Orchid, Kilian Good Girl Gone Bad Extreme and Delina. On the other end of the spectrum, I bought a sample of Baccarat Rouge and me and my mum hated it!

BDK Tubereuse Imperiale is a beautiful scent. I hate floral but it’s so smooth and elegant. Pas Ce Soir smells amazing but it’s more masculine.

Oh, and another one I recently bought thanks to your recommendation that I’ve already received a compliment on is the gorgeous Jo Malone Jasmine and Marigold perfume x

I read a review saying that Kayali Utopia Vanilla Coco smells like coconut and tuberose and that’s exactly what I get from it. And that combination is something I never would’ve thought I would love, but I do.

I tested I Want Choo over the holidays. I thought it was pretty generic too, so imagine my surprise when I fell in love with it on a woman at Whole Foods! It honestly had an intoxicating trail.

My top 3 most complimented fragrances in my collection are probably: POAL by Frederic Malle, Absolute Aphrodisiac by Inito and Bee by Zoologist..true story! It sometimes surprises me which fragrances actually draw people to you vs some that are supposed to be "Mass Appealing"...Do you notice that? I still stand by the idea that a fragrance has to have that je ne sais quoi to truly get you noticed. xoxo

Oh wow! I can see why though, it has a soft warm allure to it and of course a bit of sweetness too!

My most compliments fragances: Atomic Rose, l'interdit, Alien, Nomade and Narciso MNR.

I tried Levant yesterday. The top is kinda sharp for me but the drydown / those musks... stunning! It smells amazing on my jumper the day after 🥰

Most complimented for me is Gris Charnel-“Someone smells good!” Coco Mademoiselle has garnered a few compliments. Also Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud-it’s the only rose perfume I can get into and I adore it.

Lots of people seem to love Gris Charnel in the online perfume community, and I have to say I sampled it, and it offended every nose in my house. 😂 Do you find this scent to be unisex? It read very masculine and smoky on me. Not the slightest bit sweet and not like a chai latte. I got licorice in the opening and then booze and tobacco. Am I crazy?

​ To me, it's an unsweetened chai latte and the fig gives a very slightly sweet, slightly creamy quality, especially as it develops. I adore the drydown of sandalwood and tonka. I find it very balanced, and well blended and yes, unisex. 🤷‍♀🥰

The first fragrance you discussed is the one that was already on my list to buy! I recently purchased Perfect Intense by Marc Jacobs (my most complimented so far) and I couldn't decide between this and the other one. The other one I plan to make a Christmas gift for myself. 🥰

I would have to say Amazing Grace, it never fails to get a compliment.

Bdk tonka is a nice one! I havent tried Sherzo but i love the note of a watery rose! like the one in Peregrina have you smelled it? I just ordered Tribeca for the winter hope i like it! i love coconut that tropical perfume sounds amazing

I smelled Peregrina super quickly in store after smelling tones of fragrances so I think I was nose blind by then. Will give it another go 😊

I’m not a huge fan of Gris charnel, I love velvet Tonka more and Pas ce Soir is a Must from bdk for me it’s their best

Mon parfum qui est vraiment très complimenté et par tous c’est miss me de stella cadente qui n’est ni nouveau ni cher ni mainstream ni niche comme quoi! Les vanilles comme fire at will/ orchidée vanille/ un deux trois soleil plaisent souvent. De même pure eVe de different compagny propre et réconfortant. Le 5 de rosendo mateu plait aussi. Après je mets un parfum en fonction de ce que je veux sur le moment mais un compliment fait toujours plaisir! Gozo un vrai plaisir envoûtant qui laisse un beau sillage. Scherzo est très bien réalisé mais je ne le trouve pas si facile mon mari l’a détesté, gris charnel gros gros fail sur moi. En tout cas de jolies choses à essayer dans tes suggestions 😊

@Embeth 44 humm... I am not sure. Mostly I pick up musk and light iris notes which gives it a soft powdery scent. I think Molecule 1 plus iris would a good comparison, sorry not more helpful.

I really couldn't stand Velvet Tonka in the same way I didn't like Lune Feline, and Remember Me. They all had a weird, antiseptic, medicinal thing, so I suspect it is an aromachemical I am sensitive to. Gris Charnel is lovely though 🖤

Velvet Tonka is just really, really bad, it actually made me feel sick! Lune Feline I do like, but I LOVE By the Fireplace and find it much more interesting than Lune Feline (same perfumer from what I understand). Not a fan of Gris Charnel either, seems very cold to me.

My bf says Velvet Tonka smells medicinal and he’s a doctor so I guess he would know but to me I don’t get it! Lune Feline pulls heavily smokey on my skin not so much cardamom but I’m ok with it.

To me Glossier You, smells exactly like Veronica Gabai G Point ( and no one really talks about veronica gabai 🧐)

I got a sample of Levant and it was soooo strong…it didnt seem fresh or feminine. Maybe an old sample or something

I felt ormond Jayne Levant was sharp and mature…way too strong. I am with gen z and the trend towards closer skin scent smells…moving away from beast mode. Most complimented would be chance eau tendre and Delina La rosée

Did not like Scherzo at all. The initial opening is fabulous, but that only last seconds. There is a note in there that ruins everything.

I got 0 scent from glossier you, I wonder if there is something wrong with my bottle or my skin. So disappointing

I think most noses seem to like generic designer fragrances which is just a shame😢

Gris Charnel gives me a horrible migraine so I had to give it away. Something about it doesn’t mix with my body chemistry 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve been into niche fragrances long before youtube or Instagram and reviewing. I’ve always loved them, bought them and continue to do so. Yes I work with brands - and by the way I disclose every single partnership, always. Why I buy niche? Because I enjoy the creativity that goes into the fragrances and storytelling, after all fragrance is an art. I enjoy discovering different fragrances that aren’t mass produced and being surprised. Some are more worth it than others for sure. And there are some fantastic designer fragrances too. Longevity and sillage isn’t everything when it comes to deciding whether a fragrance is worth it or not. There are many beautiful fragrances made of the most expensive natural ingredients in high concentration that don’t last as long as a fragrance that’s heavily dosed in synthetics (which are not bad either and essential in a fragrance composition). So: it all comes down to personal taste. Fragrance is subjective and that’s the beauty of it!
