Molarity Made Easy: How to Calculate Molarity and Make Solutions
Molarity is a very common way to measure concentration. It is defined as moles of solute per liter of solution.
For a limited time, get $200 cash if you qualify! Check out:
accounts.chase.com/raf/share/...
The molarity formula is:
M = n / V
M is molarity
n is number of moles of solute
V is volume of the solution in liters
This equation may be rearranged to solve for any one of those three variables. The units of molarity are moles per liter, mol/L, or simply M, which is pronounced "molar."
In this video, I also describe how to make a solution of a certain molarity.
Please see my related video on mass percent concentration:

My goal is to make chemistry easier ;)

KZread should make a college and/or high school only using KZread teachers like this. Imagine how amazing it would be.

I just want to say thank you so much for reading everything out loud that you were showing on the screen. I am blind and this means so much to me. It helped me to follow along with exactly what you were doing. I’m actually a chemistry nerd, but I’ve always hated chemistry with numbers because it’s been difficult to visualize. Organic chemistry is more my style, but I needed this information to record a TikTok video, so thank you!
Oh wow, I understand it so much better than my Chemistry Teacher. Thank you this was extremely helpful. I wish teachers would put some passion in teaching to help students successful. I am currently a student at SCC. Thanks

I watched this video three times over and finally understood the concept, thanks to Ketzbook and my lovely chemistry teacher. Everything makes so much more sense, and I passed my chem test, thanks Ketzbook!
You are the best in teaching Chemistry in KZread, concise and right to the point, thank you and congratulations. Roberto Pizano
you are my hero 2019 (medical chemistry)
OMG I LOVE YOU!!!!! I’ve looked at other KZread videos and didn’t understand but this helped me so MUCH. I really hope you have an amazing year!!
Your way of presentation is awesome. Making complicated topics into easier. Thanks. Expecting more topics from thermodynamics and complex compounds.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I understand what my chemistry teacher says because he makes it sound complicated!!!!
i was really confused by this topic and always lost my numbers but this helped me through the chapter easily . thanks a bunch !
I have a lab practical tomorrow, and this video cleared up so much confusion. Thanks!!
i missed the class we learned this and i have a test on it tomorrow but this video explained it perfectly! thank you so much, you have most likely saved my grade :)
Good presentation that includes all the aspects that a student needs to know for a thorough understanding of molarity and concentration. I particularly like the variety of examples provided that demonstrated the different ways in which molarity could be use. the video is short but yet so enlightening. Good job!

When I started watching this I had no idea what molarity was at all because the teacher made it so complicated and literally not 3 minutes in I understand it to the point of solving the problem on my homework I had no clue how to do. Amazing video thank you

It took me 7 hours to figure that out on my own, this video explained it in 7 minutes lol
I'm literally a biochemical graduate and couldn't understand my values were totally whack. Then I watched your video and I LITERALLY WAS SOLVING FOR N INCORRECTLY. 😭😭 I've been using this equation for 7 years and all of a sudden, forgot how to math. Love the way you explained the very basic of everything! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for this. I'm in a nursing prereq track and have been continuously struggling with general chemistry. The only part that really confused me was the solving V=n/M because you converted the L to mL and I was confused as to why. I hope that I will be able to find your vids for the rest of the topics throughout the rest of my semester!
my teacher took 2 months this man took 2 minutes to make me understand
Why don't I find this earlier?! I rely on crash course for these vids but it all was So hard... Yours is like mind blowing! Thanks a lot for this!!!😊
Really helpful ....one of easiest way of calculating molarity.... Basic concept is clear .... Thanks for making this easy...

@@ketzbook Hey Ketzbook, I have a question and couldn't find the answer to it anywhere on the internet or in my textbook, hoping you can answer it. In these problems, how can something like an acid or a base have molarity? What is the solute and solution involved in calculating the molarity?
@ketzbook
4 жыл бұрын
@@prxnv the acid or base is the solute. An acid or base will act the same way, more or less, as any other solute.
I love your videos so so much This one is so helpful cause I am to write an exam tomorrow I wish I could understand my teacher like this

This is so good and easy to understand. Please, what software to you use to make the whiteboard animation?
Good explanation !:-)
I think a very helpful addition to this video would be how to make a solution of a given molarity if your solute is also a liquid instead of a dissolvable solid
Ty this was very helpful
NIce explanation! I`ve done them all correctly the first attempt (I accounted for 159.609g/mol as the molecular mass of CuSO4 as this is given when you look it up. However, the method was right and then I did it again with your 249.7g/mol). I got them all right:) - it`s simple, when you know-how.
