Mola Mola SPEARED by Swordfish! Broke its SWORD! Catch/Clean/Cook

This video takes place during my 3 day "how to" swordfish camp in December aboard the Broad Minded. We caught swordfish everyday and the second day saw something crazy! As we were fighting a swordfish a mola mola swam by the boat and the swordfish speared it! After a minute or so the swordfish broke it's sword in half! We also catch a thresher shark, and pomfret. Back at the marina Lori from "Moe's Place" cooks up swordfish on the grill with one of her delicious recipes. Enjoy.

Having a top notch restaurant in your marina makes visiting a no brainer. The idea of bringing fresh catch to Moe's to see what she makes is very enticing. Great video!

Great episode man. I've been going the the Keys since '69 when I was 7, my dad had a house in Key West. We spent one Christmas in the Keys, your little segment reminded me. Originally being from NY, it was a bit strange. I had to give up my Marathon time share in 2016. Watching your channel keeps me in touch with a paradise I miss very much. Beside the fact I remember passing Bud n Mary's driving down from MIA as long as I can remember. All the best man, Merry Christmas

I really love how you did the filleting fast paced and also I’m digging your new gaffer he’s on point I wanted to suggest to do what he did with the line ride to the end on a much loner gaff that you can spear down into the water that’s what we did on our long liner ship in the berring sea whenever a fish fell off the line as it’s coming up we zone in on the flappy falling down fish and we throw the gaff like a machine and gaff it before it hits the water or right when it hits the water a lot of times the float cause there shocked and tired and that’s also a target our gaff poles where about 20 feet long and the gaff we used a treble hook design we make them on the boat and the poles are bamboo

How big was the sun fish? We snagged one with a king rig and he started gray hounding out of the water, 600+ pounds. Guy with the rod said no i have a king. I said let me set 3 tribble hooks in your rear end and we will see if you start gray hounding out of the water. I really wish they would outlaw tribble hooks.
