Ah I’ve seen the other video now and see you did find some more hidden areas! That town you see in the distance is Bedar. Fantastic paella restaurant there (very little else).

Feel you missed some of the most picturesque streets! If you’d gone straight from the town square or even the road to the right rather than the stairs to the right some pretty winding lanes with bourgainvillea and geraniums (plus more shops and restaurants).

Barry, if you are still there today, drive up into the mountains to Cabrera - some incredible views from up there , and some nice (and cheap) houses up there. As someone else has mentioned, that 'village on the mountain' is Bedar. It really is my favourite area in Spain, also close by is little Hollywood where a few of the Spaghetti Westerns were filmed.

Yes not sure when as yet still planning that trip south again.

That was a great video, we go down there once a Year only 2 Hours south from Torrevieja, you had right to drive up to the Pueblo one way up and 1 way down, but anyway hope you get cream for your eye, All the best from West Cork

In the north, in Asturias, the town equivalent to Mojacar on a hillside near the sea is Cudillero, very pretty. There is a ranking in Spain of the 60 most beautiful towns in the country, Mojacar is in 19th.

Hope your eye is ok. I had a wasp sting my tongue! It was not very pleasant and my tongue filled my mouth. The village on the hillside you saw from the plaza was the beautiful and magical village of Bedar.

That dug out area you mentioned isn’t for high speed trains it is the dried up river 🍀
