    I do. Getting the answers is way more mind blowing than Seth asking the questions, and it's not even close. The big question that everybody wanted to be answered was about the BABA sale. So that would be top of the priority list for literally every interviewer. There was very little to lose by asking it, and a lot to gain. Since the most likely negative scenario would just have been for Monish to say that he's not going to answer, as he doesn't want to discuss that specific decision. Whereas if he did answer, then we'd be getting valuable info, that a lot of people are interested in. So on a risk to reward basis, it was pretty much a no brainer to ask.

    99 percent of everything he has ever said, and almost all of investments he has ever made are direct copy cats of someone else. The only original though Mohnish Pabrai ever had in his life was the absurd phrase "Heads I win, tails I don't lose too much", which is moronic at best. The only original investment idea he ever had (he admits to this) is Horsehead Holdings, which he rode to zero, doubling and tripling down all the way. He is one of the biggest frauds in investing history, as he rides Buffet's coattails proclaiming to be a value investor, while he is the furthest thing from it.

    One of the best interviews for me in a long time. Before everyone jumps on Tencent they should watch your last few analysis on them. To expensive! The bigger point of interest is Prosus and Naspers. Why Prosus and not Naspers? I just read a write up. Tencent's core businesses earned over $19.2 billion in net income outside of its investments. Prosus' stake would amount to over $5.5 billion, and Naspers' look-through share would equate to about $2.3 billion. Buying Naspers is like you are buying Tencent's core business for 14.5 times 2020 earnings, and then getting all Tencent's and Prosus' other investments for free. Hey guys time to line up a video on these two companies. Now how about getting Charlie Munger on to talk about what company and value he prefers. Awesome job guys.

    My point was the last few videos these guys put out shows they are. The price is above the companies intrinsic value and just under a 20 PE. I agree in comparison to other quality growth companies it's not a bad buy but when comparing to Prosus just under a 7 PE I see more value. Naspers is under a 5 also. Either way good luck in your investing.

    According to Seeking Alpha, Prosus owns a large amount of Tencent stock, along with a number of other assets. Yet its recent market value was lower than just the value of the Tencent stock that it held alone. So Prosus gives Pabrai exposure to Tencent, and also some other additional assets for a price that is less than the cost of just their Tencent stock alone. He doesn't think that Prosus has a competitive advantage over Tencent, or even that Prosus is competing with Tencent. He just saw Prosus as a way to get exposure to Tencent at a discount to the Tencent stock price. Basically he saw it as Tencent but cheaper.

    I’m based in China. Agree with idea that Pabrai suggests on its superiority vs Alibaba. Hold them both currently but will be adding to my tencent holdings first quarter of 2022.

    Tell Monish he is awesome and ask him why Prosus instead of just Tencent please. Thanks for this channel really!

  • @sebfox2194

    @sebfox2194

    2 жыл бұрын

    According to Seeking Alpha, Prosus owns a large amount of Tencent stock, along with a number of other assets. Yet in September 2021, its market value was lower than just the value of the Tencent stock that it held alone. So buying Prosus gave Pabrai exposure to Tencent, and also some other additional assets for a price that is less than the cost of just Tencent stock alone.

    @@sebfox2194 yes I know, I see the value in this definitely. Still the Naspers Prosus Tencent story seems complicated. Prosus Naspers seem to lose more money than they generate often and the way to have a nice profit , is to sell their Tencent stock… I’ve also heard that the management is very unreliable etc. So just curious what Monish thinks. But thanks!
