100% the best to interview by miles. He doesn't shy away from saying how he feels and opens up about these matches. PSA should really look into either (a) interviewing him more (b) setting up press conferences/post-game interviews for players who have lost the match as well. Fascinating to hear that lot of his memorable matches come from losses

Really interesting to get a sense for what a great champion goes through in his career; indeed what it takes to become and remain a great champion. Take-home: It takes a hell of a lot.

Gotta appreciate Mo more as a player and a person after this interview. Thanks PSA!
Really class, he mentioned so many legend, include Asal 👏
What a champion and what a mentally strong player he has been on court... on top of that he makes a lot of sense on his matches readings. He's intelligent and believe or not, notwithstanding his titles and success, he's very humble.
a real champ....in and out of the court 💪

A legend! Respect!
I think one of my favorite Shorbagy match was the one that he played and won against Willstrop (if I am not mistaken in Doha). Willstrop is perhaps the most technically sound player especially at that time and Shorbagy just grinded him down. I remember being on the edge of my seat every time Willstrop would go short and Shorbagy would barely get it. But after the match, I think Shorbagy realized that he has the physicality to beat anyone on the court irrespective of their talent as he was ready to grind the opponent down by his brute strength. Another classic example of this was his match at the ToC against Shabana (I believe in 2015 or 2016).

Mine was Wilstrop and Shorbagy in Qatar. I think we're talking about the same match... semi final 2012 or 13 maybe. Went to 5 and then he took Ramy to 5 the next day in the finals. I remember watching and thinking- this kid will be world #1 soon.

Wow great to have this perspective
Very thoughtful assessment of Asal IMO.
Thanks for sharing this! Very interesting for someone who missed part of the squash history....
Great interview format, more of these please!
Mo really likes to talk about Mo. And that gives us some brilliant insights.
love these, hope we get more!!
Retiring at 30 and struggling all the prior years with prolonged injury, still left the world in his awe. He got a shout out in a tennis match when Roger played a Ramye-esque backhand, how many players have won that. Remember the name: Ramy the maverick Ashour.
Mo is the best at losing. Such admirable honesty, thanks PSA for this insight into the Beast’s mindset.
Go Mohamed!
Legend
Why squash is not an Olympic sport? 💔 Do we need to do petition all over the world?
I read an article years ago on PSA's website where Mo was asked about his best match. And Mo said El Gonna 2015 final against Ramy was his best match and he lost.
Everything happens for a reason... I concur. I also agree Ramy(similar to Jimi Hendrix, a life full of calamity) is the best player ever and that Asal will dominate eventually. VERY HAPPY I got to hear your story Mohamed... tres cool! I'm noticing some excellent play from Marwan, better watch out!
Comes across as a fine person
Only if Ramy had competed with the peak Ali, Coll, and others of today, we would have seen the unseen/ unwitnessed best of him. Whatever these players do today, at their best, they learned it from Ramy one way or the other.
I really hope Mo writes a book when he retires.
Is this Squash TV making amends for Joey making him the butt of his favourites matches of all time?
Mo (Shorbagy) looks exactly like Mo (Salah)
Wish they could've found a better place/time to film this...

Thanks for the feedback! We've added the auto-translated Arabic subtitles into the video based off of the English transcript now. So hopefully that helps you enjoy the video more!
you are far more better than Asal ! he never reach your class ! not only talking about skill !
