I really wish someone would make a content mod for the game but I feel that'd probably be even more of a nightmare to develop than the base game.

i mean, they kinda did it with the "new horizon" mod they added new planets and that stuff, but there's no nomai ruins or things like that its just an empty planet. but still !

Daydream saved my butt when exploring the Dream world. I got very very frustrated not being able to see anything, it made my experience much better

the VR mod is absolutely mind-boggling, you really got to try it if you get a chance.

How do you download mods?

Seeing the Stranger ring world with all the lights turned off in this video is so cool. It looks so atmospheric and spooky and kind of makes me wish the devs had gone for that look (or maybe started out with the lights on but gradually got darker as the loop went on). I suspect the reason they didn’t do that is to make it contrast with the Dream worlds (and a lot of the underwater secret areas would probably be a nightmare to find in the dark) but it’s still super cool.

They recently did a podcast and said they thought about including it but had “problems” implementing it. It’s mentioned sort of in passing so they don’t explain what they mean. But I think they meant it would confuse people. If the lights go out we would want to know why and how and so on.

after outer wilds. i've been playing with mods alot, and i kinda broke the game by flying super far away with mods, kinda cool to see the planets go completly bonkers

That’s not even caused by the mods, it does that normally. I think it’s caused by floating point errors in the physics calculations, but I’m not sure.

@@kribbledibble3291 it is indeed, it's cause the player character is actually the centre of the world so the further you get from the solar system the more inaccurate it is

Yeah. I wish theyd add a switch or something to the game to make it a feature. I really think people would enjoy it. But I suppose if the sranger and the dream world were dark people would get too saturated in the darkness

best mod is defo the vr mod, even the title screen is so diffrent and amazing

I've been itching to try out the MP mod, but this video finally sold me. You should try hosting some online events and get people involved!

Look at the 3D model of the Hearthian, I've noticed something interesting about their heads. They seem to have an enlarged forehead and scalp part of the skull, since the back of the head juts in behind it a bit, like some dinosaurs had. Probably useful to protect the brain during their many crashes.

I have completed Outer Wilds on my PS4 because my laptop only has an integrated graphics card but this has made me want to redownload it on steam, especially since it's Christmas! Happy Christmas Mr Lore Explorer 👋

VIDEO IDEA: Seeing the dream world in 'daytime' is AMAZING! You should do a 'walkthrough' video of the stranger and dream world! Like a step by step of each area, maybe different videos for the first town, another for the cinder isles, etc. The point of it would be to show where EVERYTHING is. Watching your Let's Play videos, you missed a LOT of things I found. You still made it to the end tho just fine. But It would be cool to show where EVERYTHING is. Basically a here's how you 100% your stranger ship log kinda thing. And then DO THE DREAM WORLD WALKTHROUGH WITH THE LIGHTS ON!!! I would watch every version of that. Getting all the ship logs in dream world (lights on), and watching a speed run with lights on would be dopppppe too

Imagine a mod that allows you to bring the other Hearthian explorers around with you. Maybe even pair them all to the statues lying around, so they can all remember the adventures they go on? Would need to add tons of AI and dialogue for those characters, but it would be cool to all go to the Quantum Moon and the Eye of the Universe together (sadly, I don't think Solanum can leave the Quantum Moon, on account of being dead in the other locations of it). Where are the remaining unpaired statues? One is in the Sun Station. I think there's one in the Ash Twin Project? Is there still one at the Statue Workshop, or is it just the one paired to Gabbro? We need 4 more to start memory looping all of Chert, Esker, Riebeck, and Feldspar. I don't know if we have that many available.

There are actually two in the sun station. One on the top floor where its the viewing globe for the solar system. And one in the sun viewing room. There is also one in the tracking module of the opc but thats active. The one in the statue workshop was paired to daz(a nomai test) but should be ready and open now. Gabbros is outside the workshop. The one inside the atp. Plus one in the black hole forge. And of course, ours. I think that leaves 5 open statues. Which equate the 8 masks in the atp. Heck. Lets throw in Esker for fun? Everyone forgets about them and Im sure theyd appreciate it!

oh yeah. One mask is broke. Idk if that one would work. Might start with Gabbro Chert Feldspar and Reibeck first just in case.

@@TheLoreExplorer Why would we need to do anything with Gabbro? He's already paired. Btw, I don't think it was ever mentioned, but I've assumed that the statues have been continuously in pairing mode ever since the loop after probe 9,318,054, not that the statues only go into pairing mode in loop 9,318,055. There's no advantage to having the statues only be pairable on the one loop. I forgot about the black hole forge statue and the second Sun Station statue. I also forgot about the broken mask. That means 4 functional masks/statues to hook up to Chert, Esker, Riebeck, and Feldspar? Perfect. Although, I don't see much point in Esker's case. They're kind of old and not really up for adventuring as much. Hornfels might be a better choice for pairing, but they don't have a ship. Then again, I don't remember Esker having a ship, either, and some of the others' ships (maybe all of them) might be permanently out of commission. We might be able to take passengers on our own ship, but 4 (5 with Gabbro)? I dunno. If one of the masks is broken, and I think each mask statue pair is already hooked up prior to pairing with a person, does that mean bad things will happen if we use the bad statue? Or will nothing happen?

I wasn’t thinking. You’re right gabbro is already in in the loop. You just said we’d need 4 statues and I skipped the names thinking you meant the explorers. Then genuinely added esker as a joke since everyone forgets them even though you hadnt lol. Anyway if you visit gabbro in loop 1 , 2 , and 3 you guys can sort of work out the time loop together. Loop 1 they react to the statue. Loop 2 they react to death. Loop 3 you agree on a working theory. And the statues are setup to activate after the eye was found. Any loop after. Wasn’t addressed in game but I asked the dev. So introducing them in later loops would work. I sort of made a video about it but it started with kidnapping hornfells (cause they’d never believe you)instead. Then trying to reverse engineer the statues with the smartest hearthians. All while also using the atp to try to make more for statues everyone. That’d be a cool mod too lol. The mod ideas are endless really in this kind of game.

Lore explorer how do you get past or move the Quantum rock blocking the fabled 6th location?. I've watched your video on the Quantum moon and it's different locations but when you get to the 6th location there's no rock blocking your path? Is there some way to remove it?. Love yo content ❤️ have a wonderful Christmas 🎄

You should explore a bit more! That's a secret that you can find by going to all the different quantum stones and shrines in the solar system. (Yay signalscope)

As Bailey said this is something you can find and work out for your own. When you land on the qm it makes you land on a specific pole? Thats sort of strange right? I wonder if there is a reason or meaning to that? Anyway, If you just want the answer then here it is. Spoilers below. Make your way from the pole you land on to the opposite pole using the towers and different planets. Once on the far pole use the tower once more to go to the 6th location. This will get you where you want to go. I usually head to brittle hollow or giants deeps version first and get as far north as I can. Then I use the tower and hop to timbers version. This should get you past the wall and allow you to get to the north pole. This is where you use the tower to go to the 6th locations.

I really need to try some Mods with the game

This is the first time I've heard you pronounce the D in Wilds

I'll have to try the one that gives you unlimited time... I've tried "SlowTime," which slows things down so one time loop lasts an hour, which is cool, but it has side effects... Most notably, about a third of the way through the loop, the Interloper collides with Timber Hearth(!) -- Technically they just pass through each other, but if you're standing on one or the other when the interaction takes place, you die.

I really wanna see a multiplayer mod that can accurately execute the dream world. Tried QSB last week and was so disappointed to see that you can’t even pick up the artifacts! 😔

I really enjoy these mods and love exploring the possibilities that seemed impossible, viewing places never done before, firing meteors at Anglerfish watching them float away, all kinds of stuff

when I die in the MMO mod it disconnects me and I have to relaunch the game, anyone else?

i play on console and my computer isn't able to run games like outer wilds :(

I can't get some mods to work. I might be stupid but I tried using the Dreamworld brightness one and while it is active, I can't edit it to make it brighter. Only default. And I can't get free cam or 3rd person to work at all. Idk if I'm missing something or what but I'd like to be able to use those and edit stuff like the Dreamworld brightness to see it clear as day

You may have to activate stuff in the settings or something like that. Idk about the dreamworld brightness mod. A few days before it was made I asked someone to make the daydream mod so I use that one. Try using the 3rd person and freecam mods separately. Maybe they interfere with eachother? With freecam maybe you need a keypad on your pc and the num lock on. So you can use your keypad. Then the period or delete key on the keypad is how to activate the camera. Hope that helps.

In the stranger? Most of them open up once you "turn out the lights". They are just rooms and houses for Owlk folk. I can showcase a few in a cool sights video

Go to outerwildsmods.com and download the mod manager. Thats the easiest and most user friendly way.

Quantum Anglerfish mod.

The best one by far is the VR mod. I only got this game because I found out it had a VR mod and it looked fun. Then I fell in love with the game instantly and then refused to play the DLC until the VR mod was updated. This game is meant to be played at a somewhat calm and slow pace where you look around and search stuff a lot so it was a perfect fit to be put into VR and honestly I would dislike the game a lot more without it because it just made it so much more immersive

Cryyyy, my dinosaur can just barely run Outer Wilds itself, no way can it handle an MMO form. Maybe someday...when the computer chips return from the war...

Hey lore explorer ! Did you know that in the simulation if you follow an owl under the tunnel sneaky behind him while hidding your lantern, a black shadow hand seems to appears over him? It happens with every owl at the end of the tunnel that lead to the fireplace music house. It could be some horn shadow but still, it really looks like an hand floating over them. I didnt see anyone talked about this so I wanted to share my discovery with you

Honestly, the mods seem pretty lame. It's mostly just dev tools that break the game or random camera stuff. I was hoping someone would make a new puzzle area like the one on giant's deep or something

The recreational modding scene is quite new for outer wilds. Give them some time. They just started adding fresh planets and whatnot. Im sure theyll reach a point where someone adds a story and puzzle to them. And I only showcased ones I thought would make the game feel like the game still, but still a bit of a different experience. There are tons of other mods as well.
