    Nicely done! Been looking for ideas on rolling the inner panels. Plan on doing this on a 70 Cuda soon. Spec-ing out the metal fender flares by ULTERIOR MOTIVE which I see you installed in a different video. One thing you might look into in the future is a TIG welder. You can flow silicon bronze into lot of those long welds with a lot less heat and flows almost like solder. Very strong. Spot welds with regular TIG steel rods ever 1/2 inch. Then flow out with silicon steel. AHP and a bunch of others are offering TIG welders for not much more than a MIG welder and you get really nice results. Great videos. Thanks!

    Ive just started stripping my 180SX in Australia and this material is amazing. Great to see someone putting in the effort to do it right whilst also teaching others. Very keen on the metal widebody and after a decent trawl, I found your Zilvia link... I know you have UM 1.5" on the front and I read somewhere that you have 2" on the back...for the life of me though I cant find the measurements...all I find is "they are custom to my liking"... If you are still around and see this, could you please pass us the specs? Im sure it would be of great benefit to the Silvia community (and me)!

    @12:42 Did you end up spot welding all the gaps before you grinded off the excess sheet metal? Or did you grind the excess flaps and then finish up welding everywhere? Thanks

  • @240Tony

    @240Tony

    Жыл бұрын

    From what I remember correctly, I welded everything up before cutting the gaps. More metal allow the heat to spread out better.

  • @master886786

    What gas ratio are you using or is it just 100% gas and what settings for your gun fo the thin metal i ask because only been using fluxcore and stick when fabing but on thick stuff but a pain on thin so switching welder to gas for my 73 charger build

  • @240Tony

    @240Tony

    2 жыл бұрын

    I'm using c25, which is 75% Argon, 25% co2. Definitely would not use stock or fluxcore for bodywork. As for setting, every machine is different. Best to get scrap metal and play with the settings until you get a good and hot fusion.

    Is weld thru primer necessary for this kind of job?

  • @240Tony

    @240Tony

    Жыл бұрын

    Weld thru primer is necessary for jobs where you cannot access the backside for a protective coat after welding. For this job, after it was all done welding, I was able to access the back and brush on some sealant, in my case , I use eastwood rust encapsulator.
