I hardly admire your project with this LG. I’d like to know which motor controller model are you using to power the system. I’m currently working on my project with the Miele W1 and I’m using the classic L298n, but its dangerously overheating when I move the 12v motor that I have connected to it. Before using a less powered motor I would like to know if your controller supports more than 2amp.

I’m using a brushless motor which has a rating of 20 rpm/V. It draws around 3A at 36V so I’m using a sensor less brushless motor controller that can handle a maximum of 500W. I used the L298N when I worked with the Bosch and Miele toys and I had to use a small fan to keep the L298N cool. I heard there are better motor controllers for DC out there but a small fan did the job for me

Thank you for the response. I finally decided to use the l298n for the pumps and bought the bts7960 driver for the principal motor hoping it will solve the overheating problem. Now i’m dealing with the electric noise that comes from the DC motor, specially when it runs on low speeds. I think I can get rid of it with some capacitors tho. Also I ordered an esp32 because I think the arduino can’t handle a start/stop button in the programming as I want to. I saw in one of your comments that you had a Reddit page for your project. Could you please tell me what your user is so I can access and learn more?

You can make it spin faster than its rated for. Use field weakening. The motors in the full size LG washers are only rated for like 840 rpm but they use that to make them to faster at the cost of torque. It is a safe way to spin faster than rated rpm

It'd be nice to have it spin at around 1200-1400 RPM but if you check out the 1600 RPM spin video I posted, the machine rattles a lot even on an empty drum. I don't really want to risk breaking (more so fracturing/cracking) things since everything inside the machine is hard mounted.

Can I make a suggestion? If you put shocks on it then it won’t be as loud but it requires you to make a boot so the water doesn’t leak

If you look at a community post I made in august, you'll see the drum is situated in an outer tub with a sump that resembles a norman window. The gasket (that is actually a hard piece of plastic housing the LEDs and spray fixtures) is welded to the outer tub. This means that half the tub remains intact. Not only would I have to destroy the housing to add suspensions, I would also lose very sturdy housings that support the drum. I'd love to add shocks too but it's simply too big of a risk I'm not willing to take.
