Modification. Minelab GPX 6000 - Is it any better?
I sent my minelab GPX 6000 in for service. I heard there was a modification for this un. It had feedback which causes single problems. Is it any better? I’ll put it to the test in a known Nugget patch to see. Will I find more Gold?

That high-pitched drone is like having a mosquito in your ear. 😖
Suggest running in difficult ground setting and sensitivity one notch above the lowest. Sometimes it is just the ground especially in high alkalinity. Since you are detecting in high temperatures the headphones will overheat your body. Suggest getting the avantree speaker ring that goes around your neck. When you dig your target you have to remove the avantree and set it near by since it reacts with the coil but it helps so much for working in high heat I use it with joy! Keep up the good work and prayers for hitting the BIG one!

Thank you.
Another good point my first coil tech coil was bad so we sent it back and it was a lot better
Jack turn off the threshold, there is no appreciable loss of depth with these machines and you will hear the fainter signals better, the plus is you will not go mad from that constant noise

And get an audio booster.
Getting more shiny, adds up Mr Jack!
Shouldn’t be getting any feedback from headphones. But with the 6000 it does not like cell phones around you powerlines cameras. and I would definitely turn your threshold down. Sounds like an annoying little Nat. I’m gonna have my friend Owen listen to it. That guy is the damn 6000 master
CONSTRUCTIVELY- A-slow down B-get that coil ON the ground C-those variations are hot rocks or mineral pockets. If you think of your signal as a rising wave, the wider ones are minerals, the steep and high responses are the interesting ones. Having said that, I run my machine so hot it might just start a brushfire! I came from the warbly 2300 and had already learned to understand some of the variations you hear with these machines. As Rolland mentioned, our friend Owen is the guru on the 6000, and I haven’t talked with him yet, but he trained me! You would HATE how that machine sounds maxed out! But when you end up scratching your head at how you could possibly find gold as small as the 6000 does, you can tolerate it more. Naturally you’ll find everything else, like iron tacks from stupid depth, lol! Auto plus, normal ground, threshold high, not max, volume maxed…be sure to set YOUR tolerance level too, and go get it! That machine sounds totally normal to me.

Oh and you’ll be noise canceling frequently! There is more EMI in the desert than you would think! Naturally running super high sensitivity amplifies that issue. Radar from planes is especially fun, lol…

Thanks for all the thoughts and inputs.
Gold!
Nice Jack awesome stuff thanks for sharing I need to get a good detector heavy pans brother
That spot you got that little piece of gold was still screaming, can't believe you walked away from it 🤦🤷♂️
I'd like to find that perfect detector. I'll keep trying them all till then.
That's impressive
You need it in difficult in highly mineralised ground
It's a lot easier to shake the scoop get the gold to the bottom and run the pin pointer on bottom of scoop.

The gold that I find with the 6000 a Pinpointer usually won’t even make a sound

@@rollandsaxton and probably won't even get a reading on the scales?
When sent the machine for repairs did you send the coils too? Earlier coils have been an issue.
Do you have a link for the hammer drill thing you used? Or what should I look up. The only hammer drills I see act like a drill and spin.
