Modernizing the MICH 2000 Full Airsoft Helmet Build

Спорт

Turning an idea into reality. Thanks to Lancer Tactical for supporting this build (www.lancertactical.com). The plan is to take the fading MICH 2000 Helmet and update it with new modern hardware to make it more modular and comfortable. Then to continue the build by painting the helmet and setting up an easy flip down goggle and mesh mask system. Follow this tutorial for inspiration and instructions.

I miss the old MICH helmets, hell I miss GI kits. Everyone goes for the special forces/seal team/leet oper8dur kits these days, no one seems to do general issue infantry kits or standard Marine kits anymore. Russian kit enthusiasts seem to be the only people who do anything with standard issue equipment.

Honestly I prefer the look of regular loadouts compared the SF loadouts, idk why, something about the gear I guess

Freedomizer Yeah I'm not sure what it is about standard issue loadouts that draws me towards them either. Although when I go to a WW2 game and see an entire squad of dudes who put effort into getting matching standard issue kits I greatly appreciate the effort they put into them. Perhaps its just the "effort" side of GI kits that does it?

@@TheBackpackingSailor Realistically speaking, your first step should be to have a channel and keep it running with a solid fanbase. Lots of kids start a team which dissolves shortly before they enter college or start working. If you can't keep up regular gameplay footage no company will want to advertise on your platform since you don't have the money or time to realistically advertise their brand/products. Airsoft has expanded greatly since a decade ago. Sponsorship today means more than getting free stuff and parading it around or doing a review or two, it means actually being part of the industry and committed to it (unless you hit hundreds of millions of views like Dude Perfect to the point that people will scramble to get a piece of your popularity). My personal suggestion if you are serous is to produce and market your own products similar to what Brain Exploder does. This was a lot more difficult a decade ago but 3D printing has opened doors for the layman. However 3D printing does cut heavily into your profits and/or pricing compared to other more efficient means of manufacturing so you have to weigh your priorities. Anything that shows you are seriously in this game will increase your chance of being sponsored (obviously not if your product is a competitor to the company that may sponsor you of course). Example is Airsoftology, he really has next to no following in comparison to many other channels, but this guy has been around since practically day one with the podcasts and he does get around to all kinds of companies and distributors so he is fairly well known. All he really has is silly patches but he has a pretty solid presence in the industry so he is able to get his hands on a lot of new stuff before us consumers can touch it.

Nice build however Brain ^^ Another option for mounting the lower mesh mask to your ESS is to run zip ties between the lower vent grid on the ESS to the upper edge of the mesh mask. A set of zip ties near the nose part and a set near the outer portion of you goggles should do the trip. Though it might be sold as Lancer Tactical it does however say FMA on the inside of the donor helmet. A nice little info for those of us not living in the US.

Hey Brain, I love what you have done here with the mich. I actually tried this very same thing a few months back with a bump, and mich 2000. I liked the way it fit but the padding I had was horrible. I love the way you trimmed the mesh for your chin and googles. I trimmed one mesh mask for the bump helmet setup I had but with the mich I couldn't figure out a good way to mout the mesh. With the zip ties it seems like it works really well.

Great tutorial! I have the same goggles and just threaded two zip ties through the bottom vents to attach the mesh mask, then you don't need to drill the hole in the lens and can easily swap lenses around. Do you find removing the foam around the goggles on the top and bottom leaves holes that are too big? The long holes seem too bendy to prevent a BB from coming in without foam

Good stuff Brain. I was wondering what I could do with my real ACH to improve it. You answered that pretty well. I would add Peltor hearing protection and use the ARC rail adapters that allow it to float just over the ear so you can still hear open ear style but meet the protection requirements of those fields you were speaking of.

Warmest regards from Indonesia 🇮🇩. What U did look not so simple as I've done. I've done it easily, maybe because there's no difference of it's rail's holes distance in my MICH-2000 & MICH-2001 by Emerson. It hasn't need any kind of modification work like U did. Well, I think maybe it's because the quality of the product. Because I saw in the vid ur helmet is so thin, not like mine. And after has finished it, I ordered & bought 2 complete set of brand new China made Emerson head lock, chin strap, pads, for my other MICH-2000 & for replacing the one which has moved before. I don't like to swing it between both of them.

I could ask any other youtuber but Mr. Brain Exploder how do I make thumbnails for my youtube videos by the way I'm broke what is a good windows 10 application for making thumbnails. I'm super dumb when it comes to making thumbnails and I don't know how to make them without buying a photoshop app that cost a bunch of money

Not the good ones they have a harness that can be cranked to sit tight on your head. They are designed to carry heavy weight like night vision goggles.

Instead of drilling a hole in your goggles, you could've just zip tied them to the ventilation cut outs in the bottom.

The Raider is great. It was my first airsoft gun and I loved it. The new Classic Army Skirmish guns are pretty good as well. ICS, Krytac, and Ares Ameobas are also very good.
