@@l3joint Who the f runs night vision optics in a game... Same with designation lights. Also, comms you can wear separately, dont need a helmet for. No matter how operator you think you are, you arent abseiling from helicopters or doing HALO jumps. If you do it for maximum LARPing, thats fine, you can admit to it.

So if you’re wearing a cheap repro helmet, there’s little to no reason to wear a helmet, but I wear a helmet so if I trip or bash my head somehow I know I’m going to be protected. Alongside that I also run Night Vision off my helmet because I have a set, which gives me a huge advantage at night events. As stated above, having a helmet to mount navigation lights and comms makes your setup MUCH easier to take on and off.

@@l3joint WAHAHAAHA I am not new at all, but believe what you want to believe. Night games are not that popular at all. And for night games, sure, LED lights are popular. But night vision goggles? No way. There's not a lot of people willing to splurge over 1000$ on a semi decent set of NVGs for a game, because that is what it is in the end. I might add, that no one above the age of 18 actually uses the word 'kiddo' seriously. Dont try and discredit what someone is saying without a real basis. It just makes you look stupid.

I wear prescription glasses because I'm blind as a bat. So goggles and any glasses or mesh masks dont work. Only thing that works is a helmet I found that has full face protection because my glasses actually fit underneath.

Tip from a desert motorcycle rider: Put a few dryer sheets in your helmet liner. it helps with moisture, and helps prevent odor.

@@ReksratYTB Put the sheets in while you wear it, then you can also store it with fresh ones in there while its not in use too. This makes sure it's always fresh for you.

@@themilkman9188 I would recommend putting them under your insoles if you do. otherwise you might get a rash depending on skin allergies.

I have an awesome idea. Put a red dot on one side of the helmet and a vertical grip on the other. That way, when trying to show your teammate the location of enemies you can aim their head at them.

Yup, Murphy's law does definitely apply when it comes to protective gear. I always use gloves, but that ONE TIME I didn't, I got a 5mm deep cut in my middle finger, from a concrete wall. It got me permanent nerve damage in my fingertip.

i cut the tip off my right hand ring finger and though it is fully grown back to its normal shape I dont have feeling in the very tip. very visible scar. (Though it seems more inconveinent for me to have cut my right hand I am thankful because I play guitar. loosing feeling in my left hand finger would have killed my guitar playing.

It's funny you mention putting an optic or forgrip on your helmet because I've done that before for no reason 😂

As someone who plays in a milsim field with people running guns that are running hot, helmets are actually really helpful.

I think I'm going to have to invest in a helmet. I was playing with my wife yesterday and she pulled a Kickingmustang and beaned me right behind the temple. That felt lovely, let me tell ya.

My helmet setup is a Multicam baseball cap.

Run a fiberglass ACH replica by Emerson in OD, love the brain bucket, its lightweight, Emerson doesn't make them anymore, so I'm glad I grabbed mine when I did. Swapped out the crappy plastic shroud for a real one so I can run NVGs plus a counterweight pouch in the back, and a red dead V light on top.

I bought a helmet off of amazon for around $20 and did at least maybe $60 of mods and I mean yea i mean it’s only $80+ helmet now but point being you don’t have to go out and spend $100 plus on a base helmet and really enjoyed this video and now I have more ideas for my helmet :)

Do you have a recommendation for ear pro that has hearing protection, sound amplification, is compatible with baofeng radios, and can be mounted to a helmet? I may not shoot real steel, but I do play in large outdoor games where radios and sound amplification are both pretty useful and higher of a priority for me than the hearing sound dampening.

Rick S think about it like this; when people in the field are reading maps etc, they will use red light as it’s not As noticeable at distance.... So, people would still shoot you and either claim they didn’t see it (the “dead light”), or, truthfully not see it. Also, they could potentially claim they didn’t know. However, they do make those littl lights that the Japanese kid has on the back of his helmet--that thing (in red) is used as a dead flag in milsim.

Just getting into the sport my self (hence the late comment) but I have a question. I am putting together my helmet. Its a lancer tactical maritime(still waiting to ship from you guys actually) with Impact sport shooting ear muffs with arc rail adapters and a One Tigris Mesh mask. One thing I am noticing is all the strapping is going across my ears then my hearing pro. Goes on top of that. Is that typical? Or is there a cleaner way to mount the mask so the strapping is not covering my ears?

I saw some guy mount the mask onto the goggles so that way theres less going over your ears. Late reply, hope you figured it out!

I’m not gonna lie, we shot a lot of blanks at basic, never used hearing protection because they are not loud. The hearing protection comes in clutch for those tagin m67 and other grenade

I bout a Millspec Mich 2000 with the Ark rails so i couldnt used the Ear pro that yall had cause the mich goes over your ears, i actually found something that can fit under the Covers so win win

I just use an old steel helmet when I play airsoft

Anyone got a recommendation for a big head helmet? I got a size 8 roughly.

imo these helmets are too small for a 5'10 guy like me, good thing FMA makes an XL thick and heavy version of the opscore FAST so its real shape is like the real deal and its weight is like the real deal and it fits me.

I run an ACH currently.

its a smarter choice too they provide actual head protection compared to these shitty fast helmets which are just for mounting crap on

I personally just wear a super thin hat because helmets feel bulky

lol a foregrip on each side of the helmet, and the person wearing it carries a riot shield or minigun. ultimate technicool.

Maybe one of the ones what are higher cut, definitely not that one with the temple guards, only problem I see is the visor on your paintball style mask you might need to cut that off. I personally am looking at getting a dye mask and seeing if the helmet I have now will work or if I'll need to get a higher cut one like the ones they show here

If your going to wear a helmet don't make up excuses, to look like a operator is why. The only valid reason I can think of is to run Night Vision which I did not see in this video. I seen more people bombing down 20 flights of stairs on a skateboard without a helmet than my first time playing airsoft.
