Modern Vaastu Home in Vadodara with Local Traditional Elements (Home Tour).

Download PDF eBook with detailed floor plans, photos and info on materials used:
www.buildofy.c...
To be used by an extended family with three generations living under the same roof, five bedrooms were required in R House on a plot of 8,000 sq. ft., all in a Vaastu-compliant layout. The architects took these practicalities forward, weaving interventions that introduce sculpture and installations as part of the design, all the time using local artists and craftsmen.
Principal Architects Narendra Joshi and Pritesh Patel of K.N. Associates narrate the story of this home as it attempts to complement the raw, exposed brick and concrete mould with re-furbished traditional elements.

The architect explained each and every element so well and the cameraman was showing them right after the explanation. It was like imagination unfolding into reality. One of the best videos by far. Good job @buildofy

I absolutely loved the treatment of character on windows, jharokha , use of jali and brick work and that sense of indian ness in a modern house oozing traditional character .... pooja room was and is spectacular!! A job beautifully interpreted and executed...ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!

I would watch this video over and over. It gives you idea about colors that you would not normally consider attractive in a home. For example, that grey and dark shade green with the pattern make floor looks beautiful. The window with the multicolor glass is definitely the focal point in the living area or even the house. And the carved wood gives the house a sense of antiquity. That man is certainly a great architect.

It's a traditional house! Good job to architects. But I always feel using to much exposed brickwork makes house a bit gloomy and you need lot of artificial lights inside. But anyways design is subjective so can't criticise anyone. Inclusion of pattern flooring is a great idea. Furniture have clean lines and looks classy!

Wow! Most people think small plot has architectural challenges. But large spaces have even bigger challenges ! Simple, asthetically well designed large house is rare to see. I've never seen such well done brick work and that Zharokha OMG! HOWEVER I have discovered with more and more designs that concrete finish walls is not my thing...I always find it off.It may look amazing on architects computer screen..but in reality my eyes 😒😒😒 do this.
