hey man I started selling on tcgplayer a while ago, but I remember watching your vids for help when I got started. KZread algorithm randomly put one of your videos up and reminded me about you. Thank you. I'm completely into buying and selling, but your videos helped me with the shipping and understanding TCG.

Force them to do it. All of my commander nights have a required sign in to play. If they don't, they can play at home.

I don't think I know a single magic player that would pay to play casual. It's kind of like paying to play Xbox which is why all those gaming stores go out of business. This is def the better solution.

Force your players to do the commander thing. We use extra promos and give them as prizing for their pod as well. I’m also sad I didn’t make the spread sheet cut :( lmk when sign ups to the cool kids club is next.

We charge $10 for our fnm commander night and everyones prize is a $10 gift card. Works out well for everyone.

A store I go to has people pay for commander night by registering with Wizards ID by buying a pack for $5, and staying a few hours gets you another pack when you leave. Not sure if the math works out on the store side for that, but it’s a way that players aren’t just going in and playing for nothing.

Not really with what you said the store would loose $1.90 for each person that walks in the door.

If you start charging for commander please let us know how it goes. I'm in the same position right now, and am trying to figure out how to go about things.

My store uses the log ins for commander night to do a drawing to give a couple of people random play boosters or promo packs. They announce to sign in 10 mins before doing a drawing. Not sure thats feasible of course, we locals try to support our store pretty well as is.

I am happy that your store is doing well and selling (and I am not in your local market but have bought singles off TCGPlayer from you.)... but WotC is stupid with it's pricing on all these sets/collector boxes lately. I can buy all the singles I want out of that set for half the price of one of those boxes. Again, I love the fact that an LGS can survive with this WotC bullshit, but I am a hard no to any sealed product and will just buy the singles until WotC pulls its head out of its ass.

Hey Rob, big fan of the channel you’ve been a huge inspiration in this card journey. I had a question about something, I am in TCGPlayer direct and want to make another account to sell anything over $1 because I have the time to and bulk out the rest on direct. When making another account did you just straight up tell TCGPlayer who you were and everything to speed up the account review process? I know it’ll be different for you because you’re a massive seller but I was curious if they “technically” frown upon it and I should be Lowkey about it when creating another account. Sorry for the long comment man haha

Instead of charging for commander night just make it requirement to use the code and have them put it in before they’re allowed to play. My big LGS would have issues because their play area is cross from their store in the mall. And the patreon bs sucks man. I’m sorry to hear about it. I’m still watching it for a spot to open up for me 😂😂

A store I go to has free commander nights, they also put the code up, but they offer a pack every half hour if you enter it. I'm not sure what you get from it, but it might be something to try.

I bet it hovers around 440 until release and then dips back down to 400 even for a while.

eBay has those envelopes for a hair cheaper. If you sold them in bulk I would be willing to buy 500+ at a time

about the pre release code that we have to enter: I dont know if you tried this but before you give them their pre release boxes, tell them to enter the code on their phone. That way they have to enter it before they get their items!

Lord of the Rings set the precedent for Special Edition as the alternate Collector's Edition when they needed to squeeze more profit out of the set. Something like that could very easily happen to MH3 if demand crosses wizards threshold.

I can’t imagine walking by and not putting the code in and going on to sit in store for 5 hours like it’s a public space, at my LGS the commander players who put in the code enter a giveaway (probably to force them to use the code)

I thought you were TCG Direct? Why do you need envelopes for shipping on TCG if you are sending call the cards you sell to TCG as they invoice you for them?

I strongly advise against charging for Commander Night. Most Commander players enjoy the casual format. However, you are a store, and you need to make money. What are some other ways you can make money during Commander Night? Maybe have a binder full of Commander staples for sale? Maybe give Commander players a little extra on buylist tradeins to build you Commander Staples binder. Free Commander night can bring money into your store if you serve the Commander players and sell them what they want which is: Commander Staples.
