Thanks Kevin, one small tipp to add: I always start putting the Excel file in a subfolder Questionaires. Otherwise you have book1 book2 etc in your root directory. If you later move the Excel sheet to another directory, the online form is always connected to this Excel file.

Kevin! You changed my life! I do have a few follow up questions and hopefully someone on this feed can help: 1. Can I connect multiple forms to one data table? 2. For the customer query (submitted through the form), is there an easy way to create a "ticket" to share with a person to process?

For personal use, I like using the new Mobile Card view. It works like a form.

Hi Kevin. This is the first time I have been to your site and you explained one part of what I needed so well, I decided to write and ask you about the other part. I am part of a team and we have a request form for our colleagues to use when they need assistance. When a request comes in, our team receives an alert and we all go in to see on the excel side and someone completes the rest of the spreadsheet with who is going to assist with the work and the status of the work until completion. Recently, someone on our team went in and added the requests directly onto the spreadsheet on behalf of the requester. This caused some errors like the number of the request that is automatically populated and the status section which has conditional formatting in it. In addition, now when a requester adds something to the form at times it does not show up in the excel spreadsheet. I was wondering if there is a way to correct these issues? I thank you for any assistance you can give!

Great video Kevin, but what if someone wants to order more than 1 type of cookie? I tried to set up a similar form as a purchase requisition form for my company, but got stuck when trying to allow for an unknown number of items to be requested. Each item will have the same base data (requester, approver, department, etc), but of course different description, part no, quantity etc. Any ideas on how this could be accomplished with MS Forms?

Is it possible to use Forms to update an Excel work tracking spreadsheet that contains multiple jobs with multiple stages that are being worked on by multiple staff members? I've been training people in our org to use this method, and we integrated Approvals using Flow. Unfortunately, there was an incident with our Finance forms where the form suddenly stopped syncing to the spreadsheet periodically. We kept noticing gaps in ID numbers. The only way to fix it was to sync to a new spreadsheet, which meant we had to redo all the Power Automate Flows. Pain in the bottom. But still far and away the best way to do data collection and eliminate paper forms and needless data entry exercises for the staff.

Thank you Kevin. What I want to learn is the ability to create a form that requires multiple users (so it feeds the same excel sheet). My sales team has the ability to keep their commissions in the company so they can purchase product or they can request a cash out. I want a form for my sales managers to fill out when my sales team wants to cash out their commission. That request should go to my district management team who will issue/send a check. The sales manager will then fill out a form when the check has been delivered to the team members. Each form captures a date and some different info. Is there a way to capture this all on the same spreadsheet using forms, lists and automate?

Thank you so much for the helpful video! This is a perfect solution for my needs. One thing I'm running into as I'm trying to create a pivot table / charts with the data submitted from the form but it won't pull the data as it's entered into the excel as a text value with a leading apostrophe. I've tried to look into VBA solutions to fix this issue, but then it removes the form link feature which I loved. Would you have any solutions to fix this issue I'm running into?

OMG, I loved it, I've already spent the entire day trying to figure out something like this to make it simple for my estimators to upload their projects. How can this be extended to a list of components for a roofing system? The columns are always the same ID, Cost Code, Title, Unit Price and Unit Type but each rood has several lines, one for the membrane, one for the Cover Board, one For the Insulation, one for Fasteners and so on. I don't see how to use this but instead a Fully Automated Data Entry and the coding is driving me crazy.

Hey Kevin, I love the Videos, in this one, I have added and the form is great. I am hoping to adjust the "Sold" Column on the Master Sheet from the Value added by the Form in the "QTY" Column on the Form sheet. The issue is that if the buy 20 items, the Value pushed to Excel is '20 instead of 20 with a ' in front. Because of this, I cannot use a Index Match to alter "Sold". Kevin, First, thank you for providing such easy to understand steps on creating forms that populate an excel file. I have successfully complete the form and when I enter test data, it is populated in the excel file. I 'shared' the form link to a colleague to test. (My concern was I created the form in my 'My Cloud' space and was not sure if it could be shared from my personal 'My Cloud' space. ) But my colleagues data did NOT populate in the excel file. After submitting the form, my colleague confirmed she did receive the message, that her information was received. What step am I missing?
