Denise,! Scrappy is too much fun! I recommend the Scrappy Irish Chain, free pattern from Jessie Fincham #P108! Corey Yoder hosted a scrap-along in January 2023 on her you tube video and she gives ideas on a planned or just scrappy whatever. I believe you will love scrappy quilting after this! Please do this because I made the top and I have no idea how to quilt it. My husband loved it but his comment was "Who is this for.?" He smiled when I said it could be for us! But I need to quilt it before it's on the bed. Please, please, please do this!!!!
I made a 80” x 80” black-on-white and white-on-black 10” HST and made a diamond pattern that alternated black and white diamonds. When I went to quilt it using my HQ Avante on the Little Foot frame, I actually put the quilt on the frame on point so that I was able to quilt straight across the side of the diamond in a straight pass. Was great to not have to put the quilt on the frame in the traditional straight setup. I quilted feathers using the center diagonal seam as the spine and was able to do all the same directional feathers from block to block till I ran out of throat space. If I would have put the quilt on the frame in the traditional way, I would have been breaking thread continuously. I’ll try to post a pic on Instagram.
