It is utterly painful

I've worked on dairy farms in my youth and while a lot of the technology is admirable there is one area of concern. About 3.20 the automatic milker where the cow is chained in a stall and only backs out to enter the machine then returns to the stall. Surely with ethical farming moving away from intensive pig rearing, battery chicken farming and heading towards free range this is not the way to go in dairy farming. If they don't spend their whole day chained then why chain, unchain and not run them through a more traditional milking parlour?

My godfather was a milker and we visited the dairy one day . When Isaw where milk came from , never touched milk again ! That was 63 years ago !!!!

I have cow at my home I drink her milk and her kids play with me , her some of kids are grown up but I didn't sell them now they are part of our family they eat food and provide us cow dung and we use that cow dung as fuel.

I don't know if you've seen a typical cow farm, but this one is as clean and healthy as it gets. They are very happy. Look how their tails wag and are raised high like a dog

@@PeacewithRhys I know this already. I eat a vegan diet, but as a chef I feel much better sourcing locally than from an animal with visible bruising and hemoragging in their carcass from years of abuse

It gets composted. Wonderful stuff. Before installing my lawn I tilled a bunch of it into the ground. It breaks up clay real good. And I swear my trees all grew at least five feet taller the year I did it.

Everything is fine....but i hope there must be a vet who regularly check their health and can find out if any cow is just uncomfortable with machines suckling them!

Good afternoon! I am in Ukraine and I really want to help farmers, both in Ukraine and around the world (believe me, solidarity is needed), who are engaged in feeding the people of the whole planet. Often politicians-rogue-politicians divide people to make it easier for them to manage us. I have been to many countries and graduated from the Agricultural Academy and worked in agriculture both at home and in the former Soviet agriculture. When I was young, I realized that those who do not want to work are just parasites in this life, people who work are considered stupid ... and if we talk about those who work in agriculture ... they generally name this is so (many people just think so in their heads, but they speak as if these are affectionate words addressed to farmers) cattle. My dream is to be in contact with farmers all over the world and solve our problems together.

Yes it's all about the money, I feel so sad for these poor creatures that will never see sunlight for be able to walk outside and get fresh air. The epitome of an evil factory farm. How about getting some pasture going, getting them outside. There's always the underbelly of these kinds of stories.
