I used the old RTR, I wish it was possible to import old layouts in the new version.

Although I don't think Rule the Rail has aged that well its still a better game that Model Railway Easily. Although it looks like the same people now own both games I don't think they're the original devs. There really is no shared DNA between both games. Its a shame RTR didn't make it but I suspect like most games it just could create enough sales.

Earlier I wrote a Steam review which in it I said not to buy this but instead to buy Rolling Line instead as it's a far better game. As for this game, with this second version of this game I was hoping for allot more. No work has been out into converting the mobile game. Out to get money I think. BTW there's some Rolling Line gameplay on the Creative train games video in the reviews playlist. I have also been thinking of doing a full series but are worried it won't get the views. It might happen

If you want to switch screens on a stubborn application you can press 'win + shift + arrow keys left or right' to switch the current app between monitors.

I'll try that cheers. This game is pretty stubborn though and crashes very easily. None of the flags I tried to manipulate it worked. And the app I use for recording that takes a windowed program and makes it full screen also wouldn't work correctly as it messed up the resolution. I think it's just programmed badly

It's look more like toy railway than what I'd consider a model railway. Great to keep kids entertained, but not advanced enough for adults.

I've just written a review on Steam which should up in the next few days. It's not positive. For a mobile game it's fine, for a PC game it's not. On Steam I said to go look at Rolling Line. My main 2 issues aren't its look though, it's that it isn't a finished full game. It's should be considered to be early access however it won't get updated like the previous one didn't. Plus these mini updates this has over the previous game should have been put into the original game, not in a new game. They're trying to make a quick bit of cash I think.

Putting it in context of a mobile game and a casual game I think the graphics are fine and on a train I might play to jul a few minutes. As a PC game not enough effort was put in upgrading them from the mobile versions. In fact as I can see no work was done and Its a lazy conversion. As a PC game I might play on a laptop on my lap whilst watching tv but I doubt it'll be loaded in my main pc again.

The game's a mobile game and as a mobile game it's okay. As a PC game though it's terrible. The original got no updates and I suspect this won't either. If you're looking for a simple creative train game my recommendation is Rolling line. The more I played it the more I liked it. There's a series on the channel ID you want to see it in action 👍

@@bluewizard even mobile games have higher standards than this. This screams 'remake the original, with less features and also sell on mobile as unity can target multiple platforms at once'. I did actually buy rolling line not long after seeing one of your other videos. Haven't tried it out yet but seems far more promising.

I think the game is good but I do have some stuff I don’t like Firstly, I think the steam locomotives should have tenders, it feels very off without them, and it’s stranger when they have one in all the games thumbnails. But it is what it is. Secondly, I think there should be some American rolling stock, the reason I think that is because there is American diesel locomotives in the game, so why not American rolling stock. I think this game is good aside from those nitpicks.

@@bluewizard I looked at this game again today. It is so cute, but not for $19.99 USD on Steam. It's a 9.99 title at very best. Rolling Line is just too cartoonish for me. I know that is the point, but MRE 2 actually have better graphics, LOL. :) When are we going to start seeing better quality model train and full train sims??? Truly, there is nothing really impressive out there right now. Railroad Online is as good as it gets as far as 'new'. Derail Valley major update coming in 2022 sounds promising too. PS: the Free Version of MRE Christmas version is fun and free! Always worth a mention.

This really isn't a good game and is filled with bugs. I have it installed on a laptop & tried it a few times but I can never get over all of its failings. It's a mobile game, nothing more. Its a free download on Android and likely is on IOS too. On a mobile size screen you can't see what wrong with it but on a larger screen you really can. I just cannot recommend it. Rolling Line is a far more mature game. Yes the graphics may not be everyones cup of tea but it does what it intends. There are loads of mods for it which include far better folliage. The track looks naff but the rest can look quite good. The issue is when you use the better modded assets GPU usage is very high because these modded assets are scaled wrong being about 20 time bigger than they need to be so end up using far to much resources. I've wanted to do a small series on it but because its a VR game first it doesn't work well as a pure PC game. Its playable but not great to record as its far too jittery. Although I play the driving games my enjoyment really comes fro building stuff. It's in the channel name "creative gaming". I'm far more of a railway person than a train person. My ultimate game would be a model railway game where you build everything and program it using a visual programming language to do things. The nearest to this is Trainz. I can do that but it doesn't do it well as it still lives in the past. Trainz tries to be everything to everyone and ends up being pretty mediocre at all. Because of that my favourite game is the Transport Fever franchise. The devs come accross to be people that want to make a good game and not just take your money. Yes, trains flip and doesn't looks as detailed as other games but it feeds an itch and what it does do, what ti tries to do, it does well.

As you said, OK for mobile, but sadly lacking for PC. There's too much missing to get me excited. The road (the one you put across the map) was pathetic and the track laying was rather poor. The non-moving bogeys are unforgivable. I get the impression the whole game was written by someone being paid by the hour or by someone just starting out in programming. You mentioned that there are other better games, I have a number of them, but they insist on running the game as a business, carting logs coal etc to different stations and carrying ither items somewhere else., I much prefer taking my time and simply building a working model. Many years ago I kicked my cars out of the garage and built a 18' x 24' layout. It took me a couple of years and when I'd taken it as far as I could I was made an offer I couldn't refuse. Almost 4 times the money I'd spent on all the parts. Then I started my own TV Video repair business and never had the time to build again. If there's a really decent game on PC with all the bells and whistles I'll grab it straight away. I'd appreciate any advice you can give, Which would you recommend? By the way, nice to see a genuinely unbiased review. Well done.

There are a few games that let you build and then run the trains with no money or tasks involved. These include Trainz, Train Simulator, EEP and Rolling Line. I have a video that presents these games that you might find useful. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pop7tsmqqpTJqto.html I also entire build series with both Trainz and Rolling line Trainz (22) Model Railway. kzread.info/head/PLd_0BXn5xxdH6GWbJ2fULQjmDhVI3XHnN Rolling Line kzread.info/head/PLd_0BXn5xxdFTa9_TcRleJLzIPtlaKpFO Both of these games will not only let you build something but also program the trains to run without interaction if desired. This video illistrates this very well kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKGLp7OYj6bOqco.html It was an Xmas special I did a few years ago in Trainz 19 (latest version os 22). I built the set and then set everything to automatically happen. The train and bus moving, the camera work (the moving cameras are invisible trains on invisible tracks), everything. When I recorded the video I just press go and the sequence ran. The only thing I put on top was the music. Trainz is the most fleshed out game and has a large selection of user made assets to add in. It is a good game but as always there is a downside and its the business side. I don't like the methods they sue to try to make money. The game is available on Steam and their site for around the same amount of money and if you can put the business side aside it's likely the one to most look at.

Rule The Rail (the original version of this game) was so much better. The building in this Is really weird and it looks like a generic crappy mobile game. I don't get why it's considered a part 2 to Rule the Rail, it's so much different. Anyways good job dev team, your "part 2" to a game from 2005 Is worse then the original. Edit: 23:05 bro can a game on Steam not get a better whistle sound effect or what

I don't think this game has any connection to Rule the Rail at all. Rule The Rale is a very very old game that ceased being updated many years ago. I don't see any info either confirming or denying this but I suspect that Rule the Rail and its website was simply sold to who ever owns it now. And who ever owns it now placed Rule the Rail on Steam and also programmed this game. This should not be considered as a PC game. This should only be considered a mobile that has been scaled up. Even then it its a mediocre game at best and one I don't recommend people buy.

@@bluewizard Even the trains suck! There Is pretty much no drive system and the actual models are quite bad too in my opinion, well mostly the colors ruin it. The selection of trains Is so small and most of them don't match togheter (considerating how they operated in real life), because an 0-6-0 diesel shunter didn't normally pull an express coach (those are the free trains if i remember correctly). And another crappy thing Is that it makes you pay for the actually decent trains (BR 218, the steam engine, etc.).
