The trick with the "future is to make the decals stickier to the surface of the model, there are other products but they are more difficult to get...and yes the USAAF stars are always with the lone point forward or upward. Otherwise a great build.

Ładnie Ci idzie z tą "ślicznotką" (niekoniecznie z Memphis)! Kibicuję. Zastanawiam się tylko, po co mocowałeś tymczasowo bok dziobu (chodzi mi o tę część z "nose artem"), zamiast od razu? Chodziło o montaż karabinów?

Dzięki za słowa pociechy ;) Co do tych powklejanych tymczasowo paneli... niestety ten model jest tak skonstruowany, że żeby je zamocować, trzeba najpierw wkleić karabiny, a część zakłada się dopiero po przymocowaniu wieżyczek z działkami. Ja lubię takie rzeczy montować na samym końcu, bo wcześniej jest jeszcze sporo szlifowania, malowania, obracania modelu na wszystkie strony i zawsze coś się urwie. Także z dwojga złego, postanowiłem najpierw pomalować cały samolot, a potem rozkleić to co trzeba i dołożyć działka. W części dziobowej jest o tyle dobrze, że takie panele są po obu stronach i dzięki temu wystarczy wyjąć jeden z nich, żeby uzupełnić brakujące części. Szkoda, że nie pomyślałem o tym od razu ;)

Możesz napisać co jest odpowiednikiem w Polsce owego Future? To jakiś płyn do polerowania podłóg? Jeśli tak to jakiego używasz?

Dawniej używałem płynu do nabłyszczania paneli Sidolux, taki: platformaczystosci.pl/environment/cache/images/0_0_productGfx_1947/Sidolux_ochrona_i_polysk__panele.jpg Leje się to prosto do aero bez rozcieńczania i w zasadzie to wystarczy do położenia kalkomanii czy zabezpieczenia malatury przed washem. No ale to w sytuacji gdy chcesz ograniczyć koszty, bo gdy możesz sobie pozwolić na coś porządniejszego - dedykowanego do modelarstwa, to nie polecam dziadować ;)

Bought this model recently as I've just got back into model making again. It's a shame all the interior detail is lost when the fuselage comes together. The detail on the model looks good.

Добрый вечер. Понравилось. Но одно замечание, по моему не верно переведена декаль опознавательного знака на нижнем крыле, вверх ногами. Или я ошибаюсь?

Your underwing star is off 180 degrees single point, of star needs to point toward the leading edge.

Used to build models myself, but rarely used decals. Most of the markings were stencils and paint. Fine lettering for specific things would be decals, but I tried to paint as much as possible. Makes you really think about position, and placement before you paint!

Yes it matters, the point of doing a model is to present as much accuracy as possible. Yes a model builder can make mistakes. Can't you understand that these people are mentioning the star to help him out, not to blast him?

Sam nie wiem w sumie ;) W ten sposób jest szansa, że słabo klejące się kalki jednak dobrze przylgną do powierzchni, jednak gdy z kalkomaniami jest wszystko w porządku to wystarczy je kłaść na samą wodę.

Z pewnością wrócę do jednego z moich rozgrzebanych modeli. A jest ich kilka ;) Zacznę też zupełnie nowy warsztat, ale jeszcze się nie zdecydowałem co to będzie.

Zostało niewiele, jedynie wash, brudzenie okopceń i zacieków, podwozie, silniki, wieżyczki strzelnicze, linki... tak ze 4 filmy ;)

Kalkomania na spodzie, na lewym skrzydle źle położona.

Tak wiem, już kilka osób mi wypomniało ;) Sam się zorientowałem, ale za późno.

Three things: 1. The first decal you put on was upside down, 2. Why you mix floor varnish with water to apply decals is beyond me, 3. Stop calling Sidolux floor varnish "Future" because Future and Sidolux are two completely different things and your advice could cause someone to ruin his/her model.

1- you're right 2- when I didn't dilute it with water, it left stains, so I'm cautious now. 3- can you write some more about it? I was convinced Sidolux and Future are substitutes.

Big Modeller 2. There's no reason to use anything else than water. 3. They are alternatives, not substitutes. Future is acrylic varnish with ammonia as a surfactant. It is absolutely transparent with much better glossing properties. Regular Sidolux is also gloss varnish but it is more related to the Vallejo and other similar acrylic varnishes. If you want Future (now sold as Pledge with, some say worse, formula) substitute made by Polish company Lakma under Sidolux brand, you'd have to look for Sidolux Crystal. But from my knowledge, it's currently an unobtainium as it is most likely out of production. Obviously, some shops can still stock it. But I would not be sad because of it. While Future and Sidolux Crystal are better gloss varnishes than regular Sidolux, there's a big problem with them - ammonia. Ammonia reacts with chrome and brass. All decent airbrushes are chrome plated and made of brass. Which means Future will wash away the chrome and then eat the brass. And you totally do not want that. Like you don't want to use Cleanlux to clean your airbrush as it does exactly the same.
