My Model 3 is my only Tesla and is also my daily driver, so I could not lower my car making more it susceptible to road and parking damage. DAerik, I'm really happy that I can watch you modify your Model 3 and share in your enjoyment of it.

I don't really want any performance (ok maybe tires) or body mods. I'm really happy with having a regular AWD. I'm a little better dodging curbs except twice, RIP rim paint. Lowering is a bad idea for me. Otherwise I want a rear camera drip cover that might keep some water off the lens. Maybe help with glare? Better tires too. Stock are great when dry but wet I think could be better... I guess all the torque nothing will be perfect.

Just ordered these front and rear SB's. I'm going with the springs from T sportline with the less aggressive drop especially at the rear. I wish you'd comment a bit more on the install process of these sway bars. UP doesn't say anything about install time for them though they do comment on install time for most of their other products. Can you comment on install time/cost on these things at all? At least time? Thanks a lot.

If it was mine I wouldn't want to go over any potholes in it with it being that low especially since its an EV with a scate board battery pack design but for what you want to do with I can see why you lowered the car. The rear panel is big so doubt it would look in place in carbon black. Probably look like a repair not yet painted which isn't the best look :) It's possible they know what they are doing but maybe borrow theirs and test the consumption. Not sure I see a lot of aero in that rear panel but open to being wrong on that. They are not doing the obvious of teardropping the wheel so slightly skeptical. As for mods, I'd really like to get rid of the lead acid starter battery. Mostly on principle. That just has no business in a Tesla, I don't know what they are thinking but it's wrong.

The sway bar I hunch is pseudoscience. I haven't done a disciplined analysis of the concept but it strikes me as too crude a concept to be universally beneficial and I don't even think it's beneficial in any reasonable average. It probably gently hinders body roll but makes one wheel hitting a curb much worse. It undermines the idea of independent suspension and that seems too crude to be beneficial, perhaps particularly because the lowered 3 already has very low body roll.

Dan Anti-roll bars are often characterized as a necessary evil. Racers know you need them to restrict roll, but many suggest the interconnection between wheels on the same axle causes “bad things” to happen. Proponents of this view say things like “the suspension ceases to be truly independent”. On the surface, this might appear to make sense. The reality is very different. The interconnection between wheels on the same axle has a negligible effect for racing and high performance. In fact, for racing and road performance, the anti-roll bar is a “good thing” and there are no downsides - only limitations as to how stiff you can go, just the same as there are limitations as to how stiff you can go with the suspension springs in your car . From a article suspensionsetup. Info . Hope this is helpful.
