2021 Ram 2500 1... No need to drop exhaust 2... Just remove 2 screws on lower lip of left fender liner,,you can sneak the handle by easily by lifting liner up a lil. Install handle from under truck as described in this video. 3...Be careful of the wire harness just behind handle inside the frame. Take loose retainer on top of frame and bracket to allow some movement in harness. Then from below zip tie wire harness to front lower edge of bracket. Otherwise handle will rub thru harness causing a short ! I'm a B & W authorized install dealer, just completed this exact install today

Chris, thanks for putting this video together. My buddy and I were able to install this on my 2019 Ram 2500 MegaCab in under 3 hours. I did notice some differences and maybe can offer some advice. The rear horizontal bolts were too close to the bed support frame to get a torque wrench and a normal socket to fit on. Nor was there enough room for a universal joint. I ended up using my “calibrated” arm to torque these two bolts. I found it was significantly roomier to remove the exhaust pipe from the last slip joint just forward of the axle. This allowed complete access to the passenger side vice using straps to hold the exhaust away once the rubber support was removed. The drill template is perfect. I was very nervous about drilling the hole because it’s a one shot thing. But the guide lined it up perfectly. The flat pin operating bar on this newer model seems very flimsy compared to the round bar from previous versions. I had to bend the latch at the receiver in order for it to release from the fully extended position. In my opinion this could be designed better or returned to the older design. All-in-all, this was a very easy install. Much better to do it yourself than to pay the $450 I was quoted. Thanks.

Overall, a fantastic install and great product. Like Daniel Wilkins, I did encounter some challenges not covered in the video, but I do want to say that the video help greatly and made me feel much better about doing the work myself There is NOT enough room to get a socket and any wrench (including a torque wrench) and the real horizontal bolts, so if you are really concerned about torqueing them you will need some special tools (torque drive adapters maybe?? although I can only find them in 3/8? drive). Would really like to hear from B&W on how to get them torqued? Also, unfortunately the template alignment for my 3.5" hole was not exact and the adapter is about 1/8 too far forward, not a perfect fit? Looking back on it, I would recommend removing the exhaust as Daniel suggested, we really hade to fight it when attempting to torque down. Overall, extremely satisfied with the product AND THE VIDEO!!!!! Thanks!!

Hi Jim, I spoke with our installer, and he said he uses a crowfoot wrench set to make it easier to install. We do recommend letting the exhaust down using a ratchet strap to lower while installing. Did you install on a 2021 Ram 3500? If so, we have a new hole template to accommodate that 1/8" difference you were finding.

@@BWTrailerHitches Yes, new 2021 long bed 3500........very disappointing to hear that there is a different template because I actually called your shop to ask about that (there is a note on the web page that says to call)......I was told that the RIGHT template is already in the box......bummer!

My template had two holes, one round and one square? I picked round, hope I chose wisely. No mention of two holes anywhere in the directions?

Go back and reread install instructions. Right after center section info. It details the use of the template. The lil round hole is for 2500 chassis and the square hole is for 3500 chassis. It's there but easy to overlook--- I just completed install today myself.

Can this hitch be installed into a 2023 ram 2500 i need to know asap please, thank you
