    Another pillion question I was asked. Who can legally ride pillion? Answer, anyone who can sit with their feet on the pegs. Fortunately I knew that one, but this video was great for my preparation, so thank you a LOT!!

    Thanks for the vid. I'm currently studying to take my test. I will be going up from a non-clutch Honda PCX 125 to a bigger bike with a clutch. I've had plenty of road experience but I need some time to adapt to a new way of riding. It's interesting to know what questions I may get asked.

  • @C9S1

    @C9S1

    Exactly right, especially from non-geared to geared. Also, no matter how many years you've been riding / safely, chances are you will fail in the test, primarily the Mod 2, unless you change certain riding habits you've picked up which in a better way of putting it the DVLA doesn't like - with many points that is never actually acted on in normal every day riding (they have to make their money some way eh)

  • @C9S1

    Thanks for the feedback man! Third time lucky hopefully this time - at least you can get your full A unrestricted licence because you're 24 now - I'm guessing you're going to do the DAS? It's a Yamaha YZF R-125 (basically the smaller relative of the R6 and R1)

  • @trogdoren8451

    @trogdoren8451

    ss ss yeah I'm probably going to do the DAS. I'm torn between bikes myself haha. Torn between the xj6, gsx650f, Honda cbr650f or a Honda Cbr500rr which is the bike I've wanted the longest. I guess ill have to test ride a few. I think a 600cc super sport will be too much bike for what I'm looking for.

  • @C9S1

    @C9S1

    7 жыл бұрын

    If you're more leaning more towards getting a naked bike get the XJ6 or even have a look at the MT-07, I think the gsx650f is the ugliest of them all! By the sounds of it you should definitely get a Honda CBR 600rr, one of my favorites, if the budget stretches lol. With the power of the bike - really depends on how much you trust yourself really, especially being let loose with little experience. If you have a lot of self-control it shouldn't be too much of a problem, but saying that anything less can get a bit boring quickly, so definitely do as many test rides as you can. Try not thinking about it too much and definitely don't buy the bike before you passed as it just puts extra pressure on yourself!

  • @trogdoren8451

    @trogdoren8451

    7 жыл бұрын

    ss ss i feel the 600rr might put me in more danger than its worth :P i think a 650 is a perfect balance for me. Yeah I've heard good things about the MT 07. Oh yeah I'm still going to be riding my cbf125 until after i pass. I'm moving near kings Lyn where there is a test centre so I'm going to go ride around there loads and try and follow some people on their test to get use to it. My first 2 tests was in an area I've never been before and I've only ridden a scooter before so with a new area and gears was all a bit 2 much. I feel much more comfortable in my ability to ride safety. Thanks for the feedback man! Maybe we can go for a ride out when i finally pass! Where are you located?

  • @C9S1

    @C9S1

    7 жыл бұрын

    Oh you're already riding / got a bike, well that makes everything much easier. That's actually quite a good idea to get a proper feel for it and the routes / roads. Doing it in an area you know is just a no brainer for me and just makes you more relaxed either way. I get that - you could always put a restrictor on it but i guess that defeats the point! Nowhere near close to King's Lynn unfortunately, West London, but if you're around sure.

    Sorry for the year-late response lol, but you can legally drive your vehicle to a pre-booked MOT (even without tax in the scenario) but you must tax it straight after. Alternatively, you can risk a heft fine, although no road tax and MOT are non-endorsable offences (i.e, you can't get points on your licence / loose your licence).
