    Why we don't have Face center tetragonal bravias lattice, even in case of orthorhombic where all three sides different i.e, a,b,c all are not equal to each other, but still we have simple cubic, body centered, face centered and end centered. why so in case of tetragonal, only simple cubic and body centered, not face centered?

    I think what he said is to calculate the cementite in Pearlite. Because as its cooling down below the eutectoid isotherm, only the autenite is going to produce ferrite plus cementite or in all, pearlite. Therefore to calculate the percentage of cm in Pearlite, it should be ab/ad which is around 6%. But to know the cm% in total, which is ferrite plus pearlite, use 6% times the percentage of the pearlite, which is nearly 50%. Thus in total, the cementite is around 3%.

  • @Henrik.Yngvesson

    @Henrik.Yngvesson

    6 жыл бұрын

    On the left side of "C" there is no cementite forming at all just ferrite and perlite where perlite increases with increased carbon content and at 0,8% you have 100% perlite. On the right side of "C" it's starting to form cementite and you can calculate the percentage of cementite and perlite just like you calculate ferrite and perlite on the left side of "C".

    eutectoid point varies with alloying elements.So it will depend on the alloys present in the steel.In general it is .77%C.
