    @JoshRamwell is for sure the type of instructor that goes out of the way to make sure you don’t pump more and more money into excess tests. Honestly I’ve been watching yours and Richard’s vids for awhile now and you don’t understand how helpful they really are. And as someone who’s American that’s now having to take my UK test because my year is nearly up, with 26 years worth of bad habits to clean up, it’s made a big help. Mines in a week in Lowestoft so I’m driving 2 hours a day around town to get familiar and pretend I’ve got my drill sergeant in the left seat(retired military). Also Josh you know you’d be the type to have a good laugh with also. Keep making them and we’ll keep on watching them.

    @@JoshRamwellwell today was the day and after 14 days of driving around Lowestoft to learn the town, I passed with only 4 minors and one was my bad as accidentally flashed my full beams when I went to turn my dipped lights on(Alfa Romeo’s bro) but she said because it was a good drive she let it go. I just can’t believe I didn’t it first time. And honestly with watching you and Richard I probably would’ve of did this one. If you’re ever on the coast in gt Yarmouth or Lowestoft I for sure owe you a beer

    I'm pretty sure that your pedal-cam is out of synch with the rest of the video - at least during the last half. I noticed it when she pulled away from the traffic lights before the car pulled out on her and she "avoided a crash on camera". As she pulled away, it sounded like she was slipping the clutch between gears so I watched the footwork.

    Same, when the independent driving was done i was like "why is she coasting in a 50mph straight?" Also pretty sure i saw her pushing the acceleration instead of the brake at a roundabout while waiting and it felt like the pedals were reversed.

  • @oneanywhere8561
    @oneanywhere856110 ай бұрын

    It is good that she passed her driving test. Unfortunately, she was never taught how to work with the clutch properly. That's not her fault. Alas, many driving instructors do not suffer the required diligence and simply ignore the issue. At this moment, she got used to very nasty habits, correcting which will be quite difficult. 1. She keeps her foot resting on the clutch pedal almost all the time. Not only does this strain and tire her leg making driving unpleasant but it can cause premature wear and tear on the clutch. 2. She was never taught to brake (slow down) without depressing the clutch, i.e. "brake first". Because of this, she depressed the clutch more often than she had to. 3. On a number of occasions, she pressed the clutch only halfway. All these bad habits will hunt her down and hit her in the pocket big time. Clutch replacement can easily break the bank.

    Very interesting opinion. Did it not cross your mind that maybe she was making some of these mistakes because she was doing s mock test on KZread and she was particularly nervous? Anyway great opinion 😜

    @@JoshRamwell Exactly the opposite is true. She was calm and confident, showing no signs of anxiety. Had she been nervous, she would have made a number of unrelated occasional errors. But only two errors -- rolling over pavement -- can be attributed to that category. All other errors are repeated time and again and as such should be considered systematic. To my mind, the problem is rooted much deeper -- lack of technical expertise (at least about the clutch) among instructors, and consequently, total ignorance of the subject by pupils. As a result, pupils are trained merely to pass the test with no intention of instilling in pupils good practices and habits of driving a car on a daily basis. Without minimal technical knowledge and some attention to the details, they will always drive like monkeys: clutch down -> shifting a gear -> clutch up -> gas.

    16:06 the navsat or satnav says take the second exit where as if u look at the board sign about roundabout it clearly shows that second exit is one way or no entrance from round about, so question is why it not says the 3rd exit which actually she takes?????? Also when she enters the round about from left lane if u follow the 12oclock rule the exit is after 12oclock so what do you say shouldn't she be entering from the right lane before roundabout and in the middle mirror check safely moves to left lane or From left lane when she enters she is using right indicator which after first round about me towards left but she is still using right indicator and very close to 2nd which is actually 3rd exit switches back to left indicator The problem is with it the middle car which is going straight might take it as going right from the left side either slows them down or they at the same time moves to left lane following her??????? At 18:48 we see the first exit where as she has to take the 4th but she enters the second exit???

    Good driver ! 08:01 yes you signal once in the roundabout; what I do is to imagine that there is an exit at 9, so I signal afterwards. imho that's good practice. 09:10 touched kerb with front left wheel. 20:12 mirror check missed before signalling 34:20 I was wondering why do you ask her to use the right lane, but indeed it's because you were going to tell her to turn right again.

    Your such a good instructor, failed my 1st test 2 weeks ago at age of 51, pulled in on a parallel park too close to car, and got fixated on a van that overtook straddling the lines , speed changed from 60 to 30 and i was doing 40 as i passed sign. But i also got a serious for not doing the correct speed "forcing" the van to overtake. Only thing i disagree with the van had been trying to overtake for around a mile, according to theory test if that happens you slow down and allow it to pass. Nope serious fault for doing exactly that, so be careful or if you do that on your test vocalise it so examiner knows why you have dropped your speed. Maybe different on a normal test mine was extended because i was an idiot in my 20s driving unsupervised on a provisional then not listening to the court. Next test a week tomorrow 26th july 70 miles away, zero extended tests here, now i know what they are looking for on extended tests should pass. Luckily ive had a year or 2 of private practice, cannot find an instructor whos willing to take me

Few insights I have gained, whenever the car is at a complete stop always check both blind spots, don't worry about what's going on behind and most importantly don't drive how you think the examiner wants you to drive, drive normally and relax

    11:43 - I think she very gently bumped the kerb with the back of her left front wheel (as her front wheels were turned to the right) during her parallel park. Then she did a little bit of dry-steering (which always makes me shudder - It was hammered into me to never do that but to always have at least some forward or backward motion if turning the steering wheel).
