    Im starting to think.its impossible to pass UK driving test. I failed 3 times already. The examinator always found new reasons to fail me. Its impossible to please them.They don't understand how hard is to learn to drive and be confident during the exam. Last examinator made me so nervous that I made 4 major mistakes:( Im losing hope. My instructor said I know how to drive and Im ready to be a driver. Then you see how ppl with licence drive and how many mistakes they made. Its so frustrating.

    As a American who’s getting ready to take my test and learning(on my own) you don’t realise how helpful your vids are. I’m lucky as I’ve been able to drive with my current license, so I can get all the practice time in as possible. Saves money on lessons and gives up spaces for younger people who are now starting to learn. Just shaking off the rust and bad habits and hoping to knock it out in at least three attempts. Thanks once again bro.

    @@JoshRamwell it’s been hard as someone who’s been driving for 23 years now all over the world. I passed my test in Louisiana( more like a go kart track) In Germany which was hard and scary considering they take you on a unrestricted part of a autobahn. And in Okinawa, which was a bonus seeing that they drive on the left. But the U.K is a daunting task. I’ve got to take mine in Lowestoft, the town of a million roundabouts. So I’ve been driving possible test routes to get used to the speed zones etc. so studying your course and watching the vids have been beyond useful. Right now I’ve got my head stuck in the books. Once again, you da man😎

    I think the main problem at junctions is candidates stopping too far back to effectively see down the main road far enough to be adequate. They observe "no cars" and pull out followed by minimal acceleration. Checking the mirror in the new road they do not then accelerate fast if they are being caught.

    @@JoshRamwell Even experienced drivers do this. You need to see a LOT OF ROAD with no vehicles on it as opposed to a very short bit of road with no cars on it. The problem can be traced to not knowing where the front of the car is.

    1- failing observation at junctions ( cross roads , t junctions , roundabout ) 2__ not using the mirror correctly 3--not having proper control of the steering 4-in correct position turning Rt 5- fail to blind sport check

  • @colinjava8447

    I would add, don't let your observations get old, it may be 20 seconds till you can pull away, but if you only did your 360 degree checks 20 seconds ago then the situation may have changed, a cyclist may come out of nowhere just as you pull away. This happened on my test, I had to wait a short while before a line of cars passed me (going around 30mph), I put in a second 360 degree check just before the last car passed, so I would be ready to go straight away once it passed me. Not sure if you can get a serious for old observations, but I wasn't planning on finding out at the time.

It will be awful if I fail again as the condition I have is progressive so in a few years time I likely won't be able to drive anymore and it's a life long goal to be able to drive even only for a short time.

  • @JoshRamwell

    Interesting question my friend is this what you are referring to? This is not the most up-to-date version so best to double check: Vehicle eligibility: 5 years or younger, meet emissions standards, 4 doors, saloon, estate, or MPV type. Insurance: Insured for private hire with at least third-party coverage. Licensing: Valid PCO license, criminal record check, medical exam, topographical test. Vehicle maintenance: Regular checks, safe and roadworthy. License plate: Clearly visible private hire license number. Note: These may vary slightly depending on the local licensing authority. Check with the PCO for updated requirements.

    Something even worse than failing your driving test is being told you're still not ready to take it! I've had like almost 100 hours now and three mock tests where I've made one serious error and a few minors in each so that's not awful but my instructor still feels I'm not quite there yet 😑😒😔. The mock tests I took aren't the worst and I've seen many people keep failing them days before their year and yet still go for their test. So I think I should but my instructor still feels like I'm not like the average learner, where usually you'll be able to pinpoint where the weaknesses are. For me the main issue is focus and my mistakes are slightly more random. He did say he can't really teach me anything new at this point because he feels I know what to do: I have all the skills to drive and have all the potential, very good car control etc but can't maintain the level for long enough due to lack of concentration. Like I'll drive really well for 30 mins and then make a mistake, dwell on it, lose focus then make another error and so on. Then my negative thoughts remind me how useless I am for taking this long. I guess what worries me is that if it's the case that I can't be taught anything new, then I may never be able to do this. I'm almost 40 so age doesn't help but after this many hours I should be there. It is really demoralising. I've had three instructors with some bad experiences with the previous two, some big gaps in between like a month with no driving. I feel very inadequate and worthless as a human being. I've never been that confident in myself so this isn't helping. I feel like there has to be something really wrong with me to fail like this. I'm already a failure in life, unfulfilling admin job, haven't had a relationship in many years. I wish I was never born. Hate what I've become. Anyway regardless, Monday I'll have a final mock test and then decide if I need to delay the test which will be difficult to accept after so many hours and lessons and money.

  • @JoshRamwell

    @JoshRamwell

    I completely understand your frustration but the honest truth is learning to drive becomes harder the older we get. So apart from the cost the 100 hours is not abnormal. What you need to focus on is how you feel when you drive. Do you still feel anxious when driving or do you feel confident? We all make mistakes when driving but are they high risk mistakes or low risk? Low risk is normal high risk is bad. If you are making a serious fault every mock test then it's probably not a good idea to go for the driving test because won't the same thing happen? Instead focus on going over the faults you make and and fix them so you don't make them on the next mock test. It sounds like you are really close to finally getting your licence so don't give up and don't lose hope. Take the final push and you will be free as a bird🙌😁

    This is not complete info but what based upon the documents which is populated by the examiners, they fail people for so many other reasons but write it down under certain categories. The mistakes sometimes are very trivial and random. The driving in UK now looks like its the training to go to space or become a fighter piolet. But the main reason of frustration is no dates available. Many people have to wait more than a year or even two just to get a licence and not to say spending thousands of pounds.
