Moby - 'My Only Love' (Official Music Video)

It seems as if we’re confronted with new catastrophes on an almost daily basis, but while we deal with these horrors the climate emergency just gets worse and worse. And without the rainforests our planet will quickly become a scorching, uninhabitable wasteland. The goal of this video was to remind people of the ongoing horrors of climate emergency and deforestation, as well as reminding people that meat and dairy production are the leading causes of deforestation.
Please join me on Wednesday, Aug 5th at 1pm PST as I discuss the animation, issues, and meaning of the music video for ‘my only love.' It will be broadcasting on my Twitch channel and I'll be joined by some special guests. moby.la/twitchYo

Hey charbel karkour , love to read your words and share your thoughts..I thought about that a few years ago and it seems to me, that loving , being kind and polite takes for some beings too much effort and yes, it is more effort to always be emphatic, even if you are in situations with e.g. a choleric person or a what else...it is easier to open the mouth, too..to let it all out..but it is so much deeper and healthier to be kind each day, to stay calm, to be careful with your own soul and all those others.. It begins with a smile, a hello to the unknown beings , which are crossing your every day ways.. For some people this seems naiv..I love it

It's not our natural state. We have been brainwashed by 'media entertainment news politics and other assorted garbage' and lobotomized by pollution, chemicals in the air, water and food and a sedentary spectator lifestyle . At the core none of us want to fight or kill, we have all simply been programmed. Some of us have just flat out rejected the programming or have grown to 'see the light'. But not enough of us.

I ask myself this, how many people will watch this and then go and eat a burger? How many will continue to do things that are destructive for themselves and the world? How many are so brainwashed they see only the reality fed to us by the corporations? And, sadly, I include myself in this statement. I watched, it touched me, I cried then I plugged back into the machine and moved on. Hatred for one's self and species is hard but not impossible to live with, until we cannot anymore. Thank you for the lesson in self awareness, as always Moby.

Cried a lot after seeing this. I'm a br biologist and work in the amazon region. This is real. After national and international pressure, br gov is starting to do something about deforestation and the general amazon caos situation. It has being like this for the past 60 years (~1960, when the militar dictatiorship put people in there to occupy the forest before 'someone took it'). Since then, there were no real plans and actions for this part of the country (+40% of the country!). In a general way, low state presence and poverty in the region set the stage for situations like those depicted in this touching clip. Please help our country by demanding traceability and sustainability from your BR providers, by supporting local NGOs (so many, Id recommend ISA, IMAFLORA, IMAZON, Mamirauá, IPAM) and future gov initiatives to pay for the care and maintenance of our huge forest reserves.

The wildlife loss in Australias bushfires was of epic proportions. In the Billions. We as stewards of this beautiful planet the need to reflect deeply on who we are and what we are creating for our future. Sixth extinction event is real and we are now fully emersed at 50% loss of species. The need to interconnect is paramount. Otherwise we will disappear along with so many others. it's not just meat and dairy production, the true culprit by the major corporations running these operations. many major corporations put small or sustainable farms other businesses for high-cost food production this includes vegetables fruits and grains, not just meat and dairy. The rain forest land they go after can only sustain the house for a few years for grazing anything before it becomes unsustainable and sweating move on to the more fertile jungles not realizing that this is pointless and unstable. This year through Kovic 19 I've been gardening, so I understand a lot about soil types, fertility, and what plants need. And while I live in a state where dairy production is high because we have many pasture lands that are perfect for this, I can see how this is a problem in other countries with vastly different climates been here. my hope is that there's still something we can do other than cutting out certain products, there are search engines like he Scotia, and websites like 8 billion trees where we can at least try to reverse the damage of what we've done. Yes, we've done much damage to the planet, but the least we can do is try to repair that damage. If there any other suggestions I beg of you please leave a comment, ways to replant trees wait to get plastic and flash out of our oceans ways to help the indigenous wildlife of these areas both on land sea and sky. It's not all lost, the bald eagles, which one had to go to Alaska to see, have returned to the eastern coast of the state and are now building their nests everywhere. bats that had been threatened by the white-nose fungus have become fluttering in the evening skies again. and with the outbreak of COVID 19 much of the major pollutions have been cut down almost completely. Yes, our precious rain forest must be saved at all costs not just in South America but in Africa India and Australia as well, but we have to keep fighting. Protesting can only get us so far, that's why I encourage all of you, if you can, to educate yourself as best you can on any legal, scientific and economical matter of the subject to help combat this terrible siege on our planet.

I wouldn’t say it’s easy to be vegan. There’s so many products with ingredients that come from animals in them. And some meat is just delicious. Of course, if everyone would become vegan that would be the best case scenario, but that’s much easier said than done. If everyone in the world would only eat meat once or twice per week, that would already make a huge positive difference and that’s also way easier to endure.

  • @victoriaduarte8752

@@hellomynameisjoenl the cheapest and healthiest food in a supermarket are vegan, so it is easy. To put our taste buds over an animal's life or the existence of non-vegan junkie food don't have anything to do with how hard it really is. And in that case it is not "easier said than done", but "waaay easier done than imagined". That's the case for any true vegan I have asked, all say it's waay easier to go vegan than they thought it would be. Best incentive imo is to watch Gary Yurofsky's speech and Earthlings here on KZread. Most people don't even see animal products as food anymore after watching these. And if you're afraid for your health and routine, there's challenge22.com/ where you can try vegan for 22 days and have all the support you could need, for free :)

yeaaaaah, but there are people out there that eat deer and other wild game. sometimes, eating wild meat is better than the domesticated stuff that lives a life of darkness and sadness. the wild game had a good life. it's also not as unhealthy as the stuff in stores, so there's that too. take in account this is coming from someone who's great grandfather still hunts for deer, elk, and other wild game, so if you don't want to read my rant, that's fine with me
