Yeah I think a lot of people forget about the Whoops once they get to fly open prop design. This Chanel & Whoops was how I learned how to fly. And a purchase from Adam Bomb 2.5 Tomoquad build was my next step up from whoops! And where I really was able to dial in acro flight. Now 10k and over three years later..lol...I like to really show my sincere respect to all the inventors & developers to the whoop community bringing this hobby to where it is today!😀 And most of all!!! Thank you Nick for taking the time to answer all my many questions back in those noob days almost three years ago now Guys like you is what makes this community great!😀 HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS NICK! & HAPPY NEW YEAR

You dont hear much from the original whoop guys anymore unless your on a forum or blog rc groups, etc..and every once in a while they might post. For me they are the legendary guys that innovated fpv to where it's at today. I started with brushed toy whoops with a camera added on top of it ..and KZread chanel like this one. Learning everything I could about fpv. And now after hundreds of builds at all different sizes I find myself right back where I started. I also like to give a great amount of gratitude to all those guys mentioned in this video & also you to Nick for pumping out great content as always for so long! I am so damn happy! I love this new hobby and pop my cherry on this Mobula6 and Moblite7. Short story: I had purchased a 2nd Moblite7....the first was (now is resurrected) an awesome flyer and the second one was bought BEFORE I almost scraped the first. The first one had a bad battery ground and tried to resolder it back. I have a good iron and rusty skills on soldering. I ended up cooking the board due to the solder included in a kit (solder was the higher temp 99% tin) and using almost the max heat. Not to give up, I got the Newbee drone field fix it kit. Didn't use the supplied iron. Practice and more practice on the cooked board and the "practice" board that was supplied. I did good. Board worked, my solder joints for the motors is good to very good. Power and ground was decent. Two motors were reversed. Took a day too figure how to fix. But Bl heli and Betaflight and many many youtube videos later...done.

Funny we were doing this mod on the M6 over a year ago documented on RCGroups M6 thread and on FB Whoop groups etc. For even lighter build u can use a rubber band to secure the cameras to the front and use those nylon screws. Shutterbug has ton's of other to make them lighter. It's good to see that the vendor must be paying attention to the community. I recall you converting your M6 into a 75mm frame for better performance as well. As always great content.

@Nick Burns hey man, I couldn't agree with you more when you said that the prop puller is totally useless for pulling props but if you need unhook a motor that uses a connector from the esc then its definitely the right tool for the job! Not sure if you already knew that or not but i figured I'd share incase you or anyone else didn't because that definitely a great little nugget of fpv knowledge that I feel hasn't been talked about very much but think the everyone in the micro community deserve to know. Wow my message ended up much longer then expected when I started out but in the future if even one motor is saved from getting is connected ripped of or even worse and having a wire or its wires torn off then it was all worth it in the end !!!!🤣 Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night!!!

Damn! I was so impressed by a Shutterbug’s version with mobula7 frame back when he posted his video, so I immediately ordered the parts he recommended. It took a while before the parts were delivered and I just finished building it last weekend. And it turns out we can just buy a bnf now )) But anyway, mine is with crossfire and betafpv board and it weights the same as this one. It is super fun to fly and it feels very controllable. The only drawback is that the glued camera can come off in a crash, and this is exactly what happened yesterday.. So indeed I recommend getting a version 7 of this two. I think this is the best whoop so far for the indoor flying.

Cool vid Nick. Based on the weights and such, i really would argue the 75mm would be better in every way except for being bigger of course. I was planning on doing the same thing, but just use glue to hold the camera in place and not use a canopy. Those motors are pretty nice though! I have some tpu stuff that i can put on top of the board that weighs very little, so that should provide some protection.

55mm is the new 65mm and those Afunta props are still one of the best props ever...and yeah, the Afunta/Hubsan hub design is nice. When I mainly used the old Eachine quad blade props I used to take a drill bit that was just a touch smaller than the main hub and drill the bottom out a little to make a cavity. I'm looking forward to getting the 7...just looking at the PIDs you posted, they look a little high, and that's probably why it's all bouncy on first arm...lotsa juice and a "hot" tune make air mode not happy. I'll be slapping Emuflight on mine for PMB, but both of these look fun. I still like the look of the R3D Shifter whoop frame overall, but can't beat the weight of these. Hopefully they will release the FC with plugs.

I like the idea of getting smaller than 65mm and wonder if size matters in terms of stability if flying in angle mode (Nick seems to prefer 75mm, but he is flying air/acro mode)? What do you think about a brushless whoop smaller 65mm, also in terms of PID settings and use of Betaflight?

@@kolibrif8242 I flew the brushed Tiny Whoop Nano (55mm frame with 31mm props) and it wasn't as stable as going to 65mm. I would think you'd have to shrink the proportions overall to get the same stability, but then you'd have to have tiny motors, tiny props, etc, just like those old old Cheerson ones I first flew. :P 65 is the sweet spot, but as courses are getting bigger and longer, 75mm feels SOOO nice that I would race that if it were the standard.

whoops are very good to start with, small light and safe. The qx7 should bind to it, but if its a brand new qx7 it might not due to the firmware frsky puts on new radios. Its really frustrating that frsky has new radio firmware that isn't compatible with d8 mode used on most whoops. We have been using d8 mode for years then frsky decided no more on their new radios.

I am not aware of a runcam 4 lite, but there is a runcam nano 4. If your flying the moblite6 or 7 I sugest staying with the runcam nano 3. It is the lightest camera on the market, putting either of the cameras you reference will increase the weight lowering flight time and performance. If you don't mind giving up either of those I would suggest the caddx ant lite, but the camera mount for the moblites will likely not allow the camera to mount as the lens size is very different.
