Mobile GPS Navigation - BOSS LEVEL!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video we give you a walk around of the most high end mobile navigation in existence. Made by riders for riders solving real problems, I show you the tablet (Carpe Iter Pad), the software (Drivemode Dashbiard 2) and the controller (Terrain Command Gen 2).
It started with an android mobile app launcher and now it's a complete setup. But still it's far from finished if you ask the developer Joao.
Also in this episode, you get to meet the end level boss! The developer from Thork Racing.

    Hello Rob, another very useful and entertaining episode on navigation, top notch. I started using the active tab 2 with CI controller and DMD2 some days ago. I'm torn between wow what great features and technic and the other way of getting rid of all distracting gear while riding a bike. But I think hat is kind of normal after more than 40 years riding bikes. But I also see what communities can build and that is really fascinating. Keep going and always stay on top of the bike. I built my set-up using the Galaxy Tab Active on a RAM mount. I opted not to lock it on the mount (the box on the back of the bike can be locked). I don't think it has the full 1000 bananas of brightness, but I haven't had any problems reading it. I am working on using it to help transfer files off of SD cards to a LeCie HDD for multi-day trips. I was hoping it would work as the drone controller, but DJI' Fly app doesn't support the Tab Active tablets (sigh). I also have the Drive Mode dashboard, but with the map up I rarely use the Drive Mode app.

    Hi Rob, again I have watched this video and admit that Carpe Iter has been part of my thinking a long time now. At the moment I am running Trailtech Voyager Pro and Garmin Zumo XT. As I have almost made my final decision in favour of Carpe Iter as it combines both devices into one, but have just bought a second motorcycle, I wonder if this device can be used on both of them. So, there is my rally converted 701 and soon the new 890 Adv R will be delivered. Will it be possible to have all the small parts installed on both bikes and then run it with the same Carpe Iter Pad? Best, Hubertus

  • @NomadSweden

    @NomadSweden

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi there. You would need a mounted holder with power on both bikes. Then it's very easy to just put the pad on which ever bike you want to use. The bigger problem I think would be the controller. It is harder to move so perhaps you would need two controllers. Or accept using hands on one of the bikes. /Rob

    Thanks, Rob, I meant having the small parts like controllers, connections, holders etc on both bike ready installed to then only change the CI Pad... • @NomadSweden

    @@humoto1 There is no compability required for the pad since it does not connect to your motorcycle. You only need to mount the holders and supply power. If you intend to use the ODB-feature it will connect to some statistics but that is not a problem on any bike since ODB is standard.

If it works as well as advertised, there aren't many benefits to developing an iOS version. Small outfit (Thork&CarpeDudes), so a cost/benefit issue. They can either spend their time perfecting the app for Android, or let that stagnate and work on an iOS version. Probably doesn't make sense.
