I respect Mo'Nique for standing up to the machine. The studios can well afford to pay the actors to promote their movies. All the actors should have backed her up but their too chicken shit. Much respect Ms. Mo'Nique.

why would they pay her over 500 thousand when her movie blackbird made a total of 78 thousand. she wasn't blackballed, she wanted more money then she is worth. look at her resume, how many starring roles has she had? When was she a star in a movie and it was a blockbuster smash? never

Moniques problem is very simple you can please the people but not pleasing the crowd, the crowd is the people who signs the checks. evidentllty those are the people who don't like her.

Sheeeesh, just split the bill for travel and promotion. The studios should subsidize the promotion if not right out pay for it. She is right about what Perry was intimating about not messing with the machine. I usually don;t care about this stuff and I dislike Perry's films. But he did give some good advice and she gave a good explanation of her stance. It does take money to make money though. It is just who is going to pay. It is sad that her pay would decrease after winning an Oscar.

She's saying the same thing but the tone has changed. Because these three figures Lee Daniels Oprah and Tyler Perry have not spoken out publicly and say she was right.

For anyone supporting Mo'Nique understand that on some interviews she claimed Tyler Perry offered to giver her his cut and other times she claims he didn't offer her a cent. I don't this has anything to do with her gender or race. She basically screwed herself over right when she was nominated for the oscar. She claims she has a great resume. Please. Give me a break. All she has ever played are stereotypes of Black people. She wins an award for a role that we have seen over and over again and wants to be paid millions and millions. She is ridiculous. Can't take her seriously.

YES she is. From what I gather with the interviews she said she feels she should be paid millions(I am almost certain her husband pumped her head up) BUT the reality of it all is she is not worth that. And Whoopi Goldberg has won more awards. She is the most decorated comic alive-NOT!!

no disrespect whatsover, but i swear, even when im sober, precious is one of the funniest movies i have ever seen. I laughed the whole movie every time i watch it. i watched it with people who didnt want to see it cuz they thought it was so sad. but i was like noooo, look, she so mean its funny and its real but funny. precious told her teacher she was gonna kick her ass for ringing the buzzer. those girls in that class were hilarious. precious stole that chicken dinner. her mother made precious eat that dinner for punishment, but precious was secretly happy. seeing mariah carey and seeing that sherri shepherd looks better than her in real life. I LOVE THE MOVIE!

Sounds like a pity Oscar!!! Business is business !! Friends, nepotism who u like and who u don't like--- it's hard to work with whiners complainers and persons with overinflated egos and disrespectful actions!!! That's the game!! It's called business !!! Might be budget constrictions, the role ur playing, audience demand!!! Box office dollars!! Nobody cares for a disrespectful whining unappreciative slick employee playing semantic games!!! A professional manager and common sense go a long way whatever journey you embark on!!!!

I’m sorry. For me, Monique is simply one of those comedians who’s “ok”....nothing extravagant. Precious (the character) is in many Black (and white) households. She did a great job in that role. That’s it. I get her message. However, whether white or black, she’s not worth what she may think. This is about what the people want....and in my circle, it’s not Monique. I’m sure that’s a popular view.

What a baby. Actors that draw more revenue get played more. An award from other actors doesn't mean s#it. Pay gap is a myth
