Mma striking in Aikido - TenShin Aikido training with Lenny Sly

Ойын-сауық

Learn how to rapidly respond using #mma strikes in your aikido training. This video Tenshin aikido sensei lenny sly of the #roguewarriors training compound shows us how to incorporate mma style strikes to counter a jab or right cross. What i'm doing in this video is to show you how to counter with realistic strikes, by using a left cross and a hook punch to the body. I have throw a reverse right hand punch and i use a right handed inside kiriage evasion to deflect his attack. Then i immediately counter with a left straight punch to hie face and a right hook to the body. Now i do this with out hesitation and that is the key to the success of this technique. Now you can add a kick into this movement or even a knee strike if you'd like. I also show you can strike like i mentioned above and then add a throw in there like kokyunage to toss your attacked to the ground. To start working on this take it slow and then once you've got it down you can pick up the pace to be faster at this technique. Most importantly please be safe when practicing this striking technique, the last thing you want is to actually punch your partner in the face. Always maintain control while training this type of striking to where this is very uncommon in aikido dojo's and within aikido training.

This is exactly I do with my Aikido and Pekiti Tirsia Kali studies. Integrating the Panantukan aspects with Aikido techniques for controls and throws. I love how Aikido blends with just about anything. Just goes to show you how Truly effective the art has the potential to be if people are willing to dump all the preconceived traditional nonsense and just study the art objectively so they can learn where all their holes are.

I'm hoping that from an excellent step by step instructional video on Breakfalls and Rolls added to what I know about them, will make myself and my falls & rolls drastically better. Thank you in advance Sir, OSS!

This is great, one of my adult Students is conducting an MMA ministry at his Church, and I think this new series of videos will really give him great options to develop, I am loving it and feeding on it! I loved using Uke Negashi from a throttling double hand frontal choke, I taught my Youth student that yesterday and I went at him with all I had to put him through a wall, and His developed Uke Negashi of 6 years training for him through me into the wall, his eyes lit up like a salivating wolf hahahaha he loved it and so do I, can't wait to share these with my other Adult Students as well! Next time I do a video for this kind of escape, I will tribute it to you buddy, I am very thankful! Dominion arigato Sensei Lenny!

Remember Lenny usés the term MMA here as his head line title because your his "biggest" fans who reply to him with sarcastic comments to place it lightly trying to challenge Lennie's vast knowledge of fighting he transitions like he told you guy's before already into other fighting skills which is brilliant! For all any skill MMA fans out there, you should just practice without moving your lips so much and transitioning that with keyboard/word strokes with the enter button, if your si talented in that then it should be easy to learn and fast of those 6 techniques of all hand deflections, to the face slap kotegaeshi throw!, to the finger joint locks which could bring and size man or aggressive woman to their knees in a heart beat into which you can transition to any other technique from there!

It is possible with a southpow stance but with your opponent trying to jab you. Almost impossible if they are doing the hook punch on you. Not enough force for kiriage to deflect mate. We tried. But yeah, this do work though.

Alex Corsair, Thanks mate. I did with my trainer, Adam. We did it with MMA gloves and go full force. People like us are used to getting hit so yeah no problem trying full contact. It does work though. You need speed, accuracy and timing. But if that person is gonna do the hook punch, then there's gonna be a problem. At least for me. I dont know. Im not an Aikidoka. So yeah. Lol! But i like this channel.

I see both sides but again, this would be better demonstrated with a 1-2 punch. Also, one of my biggest struggles with Aikido (whilst studying the art), is the little to no work with the reverse punch BUT the reverse punch is 110% of the time.

Just wanted to throw something out there. It's for a concern that knowledge of any art as in MA would suffer a loss to a point where it may no longer exist. It an idea that w/ video games what they are now an art could be packed into a video system. A considerable undertaking. Just a thought. I'm not a game programmer I wouldn't have the skillset to do it. It could also be put into a human like robot as well.

I love your comment Versatyle TV1 I live out in Montréal, Québec or the Canadian north and I learned from a young age karate to aikido like most uke's who started out who are now black belt from year's of practicing, I'm glad to have discovered lenny sly's teaching of Sensei "Take" Steven Seagal, because from all of Seagal's movies which is why I went from karate into aikido but the "Aikikai" style which is the traditional aikido Sensei Take Seagal just says his form is aikido he never says the word "tenshin" which is just the name of the dojo in okinawa Japan where eventually Seagal got permission from the his girlfriends father to run the dojo after in order to vamp up more students and other masters. I'm learning both "Aikikai" here in order to continue my obtaining a black belt from practicing all traditional techniques to Lenny sly's techniques of all basic hand deflections, Nodotsukiage which is the face slap kotegaeshi throw over technique without the wrist joint lock hence the name, trying to simplify what it is that I'm talking about. So I'm taking in all that Lenny sly teaches to add to my reign of techniques into my tool box and because I love steven seagal and his movies of techniques also from Russia where it is now where he is teaching his art! he did say where someone over heard him talk with a friend of his " is anyone teaching my aikido or version of aikido? He had asked this, so he wouldn't call it "tenshin" aikido which only Sensei Lenny sly uses only to distinguish this from the word usage apart from "Aikikai traditional"

It doesn't matter where you live just get someone to practice with as a friend or family member and teach yourself exactly what Sensei Lenny is teaching he is a "gifted" teacher how he choreographs his moves with patient step by step teachings and was Seagal's best student back then at the time and probably still is, I always wanted to learn all Seagal's aikido from hid on screen aikido realistic action now that I found Lenny sly who teaches his techniques, but I'm still trying to grasp and then perfect Sensei Seagal's fast hand fighting skills along with those hand deflections now known because of Lenny sly you should hear podcasts where he talks everything about Seagal facts to all his other Seagal students or master trade secrets.

BULLFUCKINGSHIT !!! anyone trying to fall to the ground is waiting for some hurting if you know what to do, because back in Seagal day's you would end up dead before you even hit the ground!! The ground is the worst spot you want to place yourself in!! Think about it, you got a tin of a guy's who will jump on you when there given the chance, stab you, it's your weakest Area you knit wits!! You don't wish to place yourself in, this is pro fighting in the octagon where there are rules to follow unlike the real world of NASTY fighting you wouldn't be able to get up after laying beatin on the ground from trying stupid bjj all the time, you want to get a biere bottle to your head while resorting to ground wrestling, anything of bjj is good without the ground fighting part is useful to learn, I'm not tryjng to knock bjj down every art is useful to have or basically know about than not knowing anything at all to defend yourself, but yeah like in any fight that is about to take place, you want to get kicked in the head multiple times or anywhere on your body trying to bjj your way out. As long as you don't land on the ground with bjj which is only for the octagon as a sport, a karate expert kicked most of bjj pro fighters asses, look it up but even bjj is good just like any art when used properly anyone could throw a knock out punch which would turn out anyone's lights out switch.

Classic counter attacks It’s a parry with two or three rapid succession strikes . Once you soften the guy up like that you can close the gap and apply any series of Aikido or Jujitsu control techniques that you wish .

someone sane shouldn't put in himself in position to fight anyways (unless it's you make money out of it). Traditional aikido is not about fighting, it's about coordinating mind and body. If you get bullied just learn popular stuff, Aikido has a long way to learn and adapt for regular people.

It's just regular street fighting way before the MMA, at which it was called the "OCTAGON" back in the 90's back way then. Lenny used the term MMA since you folks are always making "comments" everyone knows how to use there fists "it's our animal instincts fight or flight mode" most people would "try" to cover there body with there hands. This "tenshin" does work or anything for that matter just to simply defend yourself. From simple straight simple punching to someone's face to bare hand palm strikes are way better to the face or throat, the lights out switch being either the corner side of the chin towards the cheek bone! Will knock someone out.

If your a fast learner anyone could with enough practice just like you "understand how fighters train in the ufc" the same principles apply to basic fighting of hand deflections to "NODOTSUKIAGE" Which is the "face slap kotegaeshi" technique to finger joint locks! These simple techniques can bring anyone down with just some practice remember timing, and distance are friend, MMA is about any type of fighting skill not just bjj
