They Live is an AMAZING movie that you should watch now if you have not. It's one of our favorite movies and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was fantastic. He really help pave the way for future pro-wrestlers to get into acting. The grade at the end of this fight scene does not represent how entertaining the fight is, just how likely these moves will happen in a modern day alley fight. THEY LIVE is on my top 10 movies of all time NOT because of the fight scene but because of its message which is still overwhelmingly relevant today.

I love that movie. Whenever I watch it, I watch it for Rowdy Roddy Piper. A legendary wrestler. R.I.P.🙏

I love the exhaustion from both actors in this scene. They both have to drag themselves up every time.

The thing I love about the fight is how raw and dirty it feels.

I always love how you guys will point out when something wouldn't work in real life or wouldn't be the best option, but still acknowledge why it would be that way, whether because it looks better on camera, or because super powers are involved!

I always loved this scene- the combination of exhaustion and obvious pain made it feel amazing.

Love that you referred to pipers wrestling as art work. That fuckin respect man.

As cinema, I'd argue that this fight scene is one of the best of all time. There will probably never be a better example of using pro-wrestling tropes to advance the narrative. That having been said, C- seems plenty fair graded for realism.

I've seen the movie once and will probably re-watch it some day. It's interesting, funny and has a meaningful plot, which is rare nowadays. And the fight scene is hilarious. I get the grade you gave it from an efficiency point of view, but as a fight between two regular construction workers, it's a solid A :)

Make it an hour and I would still watch the whole video 😅

I did the sag take down in a street fight without knowing it. I wish I would've known about the technique back then. But everyone of these breakdowns are amazing and the details they go into is incredible

Even when some stuff is obvious, even to a non-fighter like me, you guys do such a good job of explaining things, I loved it. And even though this wasn't a fantastic fight, any movie lover remembers this scene (and the bubblegum one) from this movie, so it was a great pick!

Excellent breakdown as always. I do wonder how you guys would choreograph a fight scene but still maintain that dramatic flair that' can be absent in real fights. I'm no fighter, but even I'm aware that it can take just one punch to end things quick.

This was a great review. I really liked it. But then again, it's like all of your reviews in that regard (aside from the anime ones, which I don't want to watch :P )

To me it is a perfect fight just because of how you see them get hurt, like it is real, dumb and so so so fun. Name a more fun fight. Keith head literally had skin scraped off it and he keep going like this fight is so fun

Thinking back on it, I think rhere might be a story reason why Roddy was going for some techniques that go against the idea of getting glasses on Keith It's a really stressful situation emotionally so he probably got kinda too involved in doing things like crotch punched or jead slams, which yeah would be fine in a wrestling match, but don't help here doesn't make them good tactical moves, but it fits with how the characters are overall more Human than a lot of action movie characters (or hell, Duke Nukem, whose design is inspired by Roddy)
