Actually - I believe the name of this AU is just a name here. A lot of AU's just include phobias generally as part of their titles.

Athazagoraphobia, which means the fear of being forgotten, left, or being replaced, actually works well. In the sense of being replaced because they split into two and a monster tries to replace them.

There's enough context in the fluttershy teaching scene. Also, if you're confused about the whole injury thing, they can be injured but can't fake injuries. Also, the real fluttershy didn't get her leg cut off in the first place. It was her counterpart, which just so happened to heal itself and forget about the whole 3 legs thing.
