MLF BFL KENTUCKY LAKE JULY 9th 2022 Bass Tournament

Ойын-сауық

We were greeted by hot July summer air, light winds and low current flow during this Kentucky Lake MLF BFL. Low current flow on the Tennessee River spreads the fish out and makes ledge fishing difficult, This bass tournament started out slow but once the current kicked the bass in Kentucky Lake started biting.

That's why they call it the "Deadly Nedly", Haha. Pitching a Ned in grass is often used by pond fishermen. I mostly use it during Winter, and in the Spring until the grass gets too tall to make it practical to use. Missing Big Bass by 3oz, oooh that is so close.

Fun to watch video Gabe . Pardon the French, but you really got Fu&*D out of big bass! You know my take .... I doubt that it had to do much with throwing a Ned, and more to do with where you were throwing the bait. I kept thinking .....looks like a good place to throw my jig! I hate it when I see you lose a keeper!

I use a Ned in grass quite often, especially in the river. I prefer the Ned for finesse fishing when I'm still looking to cover water because I can swim it, drag it, hop it, or soak it. Of course, I don't fish tournaments, so it's not a big deal if I don't catch any.

Is Kentucky Lake still a good lake to bass fish in the Spring? I have 3 weeks of vacation planned in April/May and was hoping to spend it bass fishing in Kentucky? Would the trip be worth it or should I go somewhere else? Thanks!
