The great Jack Buck would interview Whitey on his Buck At Bat show before the game on radio, ask Whitey one question... and 10 minutes later Whitey would finally finish. Jack would say, Have I asked too many questions Whitey? Then, stay tuned for Cardinal's baseball. Lord how Whitey could hold court, and his mind was sharp as a tack.

What is even crazier is that that Cardinals should have never gotten to even the Dinkinger botched call. St Louis was up 3 games to 1 at one point in that series. They should have closed it out before it even got to that. But...sports I guess hehe. R.I.P. Herzog
