Two legends of the game... Bob Gibson didn't like it when batters crowded *his* plate. Gibson threw at Roberto Clemente one day. Clemente responded with a line drive that hit Gibson and took Gibson out of the game. Gibson never threw at Clemente again.

The Brewers pitchers are always hitting opposing hitters and it's never intentional. If you can't pitch inside without hitting someone, quit pitching inside. Then they have the nerve to get pissed off when the other team retaliates. They hit Wilson Contreras of the Cubs almost every game they play each other .

These guys make me laugh. Childish hypocrisy at its finest. Hitters hit solo home runs in blowout games and dance around like they’ve won game 7 of the World Series, and pickers whine and complain. Pitchers stoke a guy out and act like it’s the last out on the bottom of the 9th in a 1 run game 7 and hitters whine and complain. Hey everyone, to paraphrase John Madden, Vince Lombardi, Don Cherry and so many others: show some class, act like you’ve been there before.

Funny how the first one Baez hit a can of corn. He had zero reason to celebrate because his “hit” was only relevant because of the effort of the other three players who got on for him. Wouldn’t consider it as great of a revenge moment as other ones are. I guess it was cool because of the beef the players had but unless it’s a homerun or something it’s not that great.

@@xJeremySx I’m just saying it’s not worthy of being a revenge moment. I used very obvious baseball vernacular in my post, I hope that would prove I’ve played baseball. I’ve not only played but coached at the high school level as well. I don’t want to burst the guys bubble but come on that wasn’t a good hit, it was just something that worked in the circumstance. There is much better revenge moments in baseball to highlight than that.

If a major league pitcher hits a batter he should be tossed from the game, automatically. Look, if you're playing at that level and you can't avoid hitting a batter, go back to the minors. These guys make millions. If you want to brush a batter off the plate, ok, but if you hit him, sit on the bench. That will clear up all the "was it intentional" debates. What's important isn't intent. What's important is whether or not the pitcher is in control of his pitches.
