Most players nowadays have no skill and are very overpaid and way overrated...they can't do anything I can't do and have done when they prove that they deserve the "pro" title then ill change my mind, but 260s 280s averages is nothing special and neither is 20-30 homeruns with only 80-100 rbis thats all average and deserves average pay people that hit 310 plus and 40-50 homers and 120 rbis deserve hundreds of millions of dollars. A couple diving plays and a homerun rob doesn't equal great pay.

You all would eat your words if he was on your team and having a great season like he is for us Padres fans this year. I’m sure on the earlier incidents as he was a young star for the Orioles he made some bad hot headed decisions. As for the leg drag when with the Dodgers 2 years ago it is blown up to a much bigger deal! He drag his foot across 1st basemen’s foot that was half way on the bag. And a hard slide into second has been done by many players and the white guys are known as scrappy hustlers while Machado is known as the sh!tty, smug, crying, dirty player. Honestly watching him for this year and a half I wouldn’t want any other leader on this young team! He has not even an ounce of jealousy with Tatis Jr getting all the hype and even more hometown love. They guy shows up every game ready to do work and WIN and you can count on him to do it day in and day out!

Bluetribal33 you’re so biased. Everyone knows that machado is a big crybaby and only speaks up when his teammates protect him. And I know what it’s like to have him on ur team. He doesn’t hustle or run out groudballs until he gets criticized about it. Very inconsistent with the bat, too

Ricardo Torres your right I have gotten to know him better as a player watching every game for the last two seasons and I love the guy! There is nothing to not like about him. I don’t hold it against him for his actions as a youngster with Baltimore. And the playoffs with the Dodges I didn’t see any major issues with his first base foot drag and hard slide at second. If he had been a white player he would have been praised for sticking up for his team and been called a hard nose scrappy player.

The clip of the Gnats starting at 1:47 makes me wonder if it was from the 2018 season. I went to two games at Nationals Park vs Red Sox on July 2nd and 3rd. Sox won both, but during the tight first game, I and lots of other fans on 3rd base side could see some of the Nats squabbling a few times. That game was one of most enjoyable ones for me of the many I have seen in person. Red Sox won 4-3, but the LOB situation was incredible. Boston left a few runners on base, Nats had TEN. The key hit was a 3-run double by a Sox player I would not have guessed with 20 guesses. PITCHER RICK PORCELLO. Sox loaded the bases in top 2nd, score tied at zero. A leadoff single, then a 1-out HBP, led to Jackie Bradley coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd, two outs. Wash mgr ordered Scherzer to give him an IBB. so bases loaded, 2 outs. pitcher Rick Porcello up. Porcello being an AL pitcher throughout his career, batted extremely rarely. Had never had an extra base hit ..... UNTIL !!!! SCHERZ quickly got ahead in count, 0 and 2. Then came the earthquake!! he threw a high fastball, and Porcello hit a LOOONG drive over the left shoulder of the LFer, Juan Soto. Could he track it down? Well, I noticed that Juan got a poor jump on the ball. Tried to back pedal ... instead of turning his back to home plate and RUNNING toward the outfield wall to be sure to get back to it. Entire stadium watched in suspense. Soto gave a somewhat awkward jump as ball came down .... and MISSED IT by about FOUR INCHES!!! With 2 outs, all 3 runners were running full tilt on contact, and all 3 of them scored, ... EASILY. Bradley can fly! Scherzer had wandered down toward the 1st base line as he watched what happened. THEN ERUPTED IN FRUSTRATION!!! As soon as ball landed safely, he whipped his glove off and SLAMMED IT INTO THE GROUND!!! Porcello's double gave BOS a 3-0 lead. Meanwhile, WASH got chances to score with men on base, but started early squandering them. Left one guy on in bot 1st. Got a single in bot 2nd, but Murphy on first base made the cardinal error while down 3 runs of trying to go 1st to 3rd on a hit to RF. And MOOKIE BETTS made him pay. Threw him out at 3rd with a patented great throw. So there were 2 outs and one on, instead of vice versa. Another WASH LOB in 3rd. One out single but nada. In bot 4th Rendon hit a HOME RUN for Gnats, but alas it was leading off the inning. So 3-1 after 4 inns. Rendon came up to bat in bot 5th with 2 out, 2 on after a walk and a single, ... but typical of Nats being unable to come through with a hit with men in scoring position, that time he struck out. In bot 6th, Murph hit a homer. Another solo shot. 3-2. But leading off the 7th for BRS, Mookman hit a solo homer for Sox to get the lead back to 2 runs, 4-2. In bot 7th, Wash again had 2 on, 2 out for Rendon. And aqain he made an out to end the inning. Sox went quietly in top 8th, and again Gnats hit a solo leadoff HR, this one by B Harper. But nothing else happened. 4-3 after 8. Both teams went out easily in 9th, with Kimbrel getting the save for Boston.

Best part of this video is the catcher snagging that pitch that was behind the batter... That was pretty good leather work
