Samsora really refined his Joker counterplay which already did series work at Super Smash Con. Namely he commited even more to platform and air camping and used float to avoid getting chipped too much by Gun Special. Also I can’t help but feel that Bob-Omb pull in Game 3 empowered him and helped stay composed for the rest of the tourney. Lol

@@mcmofo690 Its not hate, its a legitimate problem of Tweek that even he admits. Look at EVO GF, after Leo started reading when he'd switch off-stage, he never mixed up his timing or even mixed up his recovery after the reset. His mind froze and he couldn't adjust anymore.

MKLeo had so much pressure on him both being #1 on the PGR and being on the streak he's been on. He played amazingly, Samsora stepping up is great for the story of Ultimate, hope Leo comes back stronger.

JFishnets24 I totally agree, Shine 2019 was my first tournament I have ever been to and the experience compared to watching the sets on stream is so much better. I encourage anyone who can afford it and is at the very least nearby the next major event to attend. It’s just one of those events that you have to be there for to experience.

This was a very diverse cast of characters. Top 8 alone had 13 different characters (and about 18 if we also include the entirety of the 12 finalists). Additionally, the 4 people who made 13th also played unique characters. Agh...awesome.

Darx Matter, that’s a dumbass take. To me and you it’s just a game, but to these top players this is their livelihoods. If they start playing like shit they get dropped from their teams and no longer have a consistent salary and won’t be able to go to more tournaments to get a small payout barely paying off your hotel room.

This is such a good set holy shit. I remember back in the early days when everyone would immediately count samsora out against Leo, now he’s one of the few (if not the only) to have taken multiple sets off Leo in Ultimate. That on top of the Nairo run made this tourney sooooo fun to watch. Ggs all around

perhaps the real game changer for samsora was mkleo choosing alt8, the akechi skin 🤔 jokes aside, great game from both players!!! absolutely phenomenal, it was so hype
