John, love your videos, and I've learned so much from watching your channel. I think it's hard when a lot of people *are* making a career out of stuff like this to remember that a lot of people do this for fun. Especially when a channel gets popular, a lot of people can't understand why one wouldn't want to give it a shot. Keep doing you man. It IS your life, and thank you for sharing this part of it!

I'm so happy to see that monitor working and I'm very proud of you for not giving up on it. I know it's been a major pain for you, but it was worth it in the end. You're almost at the finish line with this project! Also, the way you addressed the lack of videos was well said. It's good to hear you actually say you're not done with this channel. We just need to have patience and wait for the next video when you feel like doing it. Thanks for making a video this week and I look forward to the next one.

I just tried to repair a Hantarex MTC-9000 that I brought as not working with the idea to learn how to repair it. It was ticking and I found that the US250 PSU I was using to power it was running low on the monitor output, but not after doing a cap kit and replacing all the transistors and rebuilding the power section. I then found how to test the power section by removing the yoke connector and running a 35w bulb on the center pin. This allowed me to check the power and was how I found the input power was low. So after I fixed this I then found a resistor was starting to burn and it was on the 130v b+ so I removed the resistor that sent the power to the LOPT and found the 130v b+ was stable. My next move was to replace the LOPT and I had the same problem so I looked at the yoke and found I had one that was 0.5ohm when it should be 2ohm so I removed the yoke and saw that it was damaged and that was as far as I can go at the moment. Everything I did was thanks to watching your videos and especially this one as they are close in design. So you can imagine how I felt after watching the april fools video as it was at the time I was trying to work on my and I was really looking forward to seeing you fix it. Thankfully you have and that makes me happy.

I did want to, but it was the first time I had tried to repair a crt and I needed to learn as much as I could without the added complications of recording it. I guess I could record one showing how I tested it and the current status of the yoke. I am also in the middle of making a Dick Smith LOPT tester and my LCR meter just arrived from japan so I should think about making a video for the next one I try with the better tools I have.

I completely understand what your telling about your mood and motivation. The last video I came out with on my own channel (focussing steam trains) is from 2016. It's not that I don't want to publish new videos. It's just that I'm tired of video editing and so. Since then I recorded stuff for another 7 or 8 videos, but still no motivation for video editing. Up to now I enjoy working with my vintage computers a lot more. So what? It's my hobby and it has to satisfy only me! That said I for sure would like to see your videos on a more regular basis, but it's your decision! Do what pleases yourself!
