Hey so off the top of your head, can I do this with the factory xenon? I've been wanting black housing headlights when I replace mine but they're impossible to find and anything close that says "hid compatible" also says it doesn't fit factory xenon so that's where it's confusing. Mines a mk5 gli so isn't factory xenon just hod and I can swap the ballast like you did?

No rewiring needed. Just got them new from eBay. Make sure it’s a 12 point connector and HID compatible. All others for the Jetta’s and rabbits and others are 10 point connection and halogen.

I got them from eBay but for the life of me I don’t remember the seller. And there are multiple so I can’t really give a link. I apologize. They are not OEM. They were just the housings. I transferred all the bulbs and the igniters from the original.
