As a 41 year old former ASE certified tech that's also a girl, it makes me so damn happy to see women technicians in the field. There really weren't any at all 20 years ago when i was in the field, and i left by the time I was 26. So stoked that women techs are now the norm! The new light looks extra cool! And I think you were smart to save all that extra wire length, rather than trimming it off, as a lot of people would have done. You never know what other modifications you may want to make in the future, and you may be glad to have that extra wire. Nice video!

Sweet car, and cool light mod. i understand why some home gamers would use the T-taps "vampire clips", but i dont think pro's should be using them, nice job anyways. Always love your energy!

I do not own a car that has the option. I think all new cars should come with this kind of functionality. Very informative video and enjoy all the knowledge shared.

Hey Faye, I really like how it looks. Porsche did something like that a couple years ago the third brake light flickered on hard breaking which I thought was a great idea, but I don’t think it really caught on either way the flickering light will attract more attention, which of course is a good thing. I love the look! I always wanted that light to work. In the end clip, I can see why Toyota designers made it reverse only as it takes your eyes away from the sexy curves around the trunk area, but really great look regardless!!!

Oh damn, thank you for these videos. I'm loving my A90 - it's five years old now and it still puts a smile on my face! I had a question though, about the servicing. I don't drive mine much, I do about 3500 miles a year. Would you still recommend changing the oil every year or is it ok to leave it until the normal service intervals?

Gave a first go to attempt to install my aftermarket brake and rear side marker lights, but couldn’t figure out how to release the reverse cam connector? (Heat in my garage + that 1 connector almost had me hulk out, so I called it for another day😂) probably simple, but please advise. Thanks in advance

I am considering to do this mod looks so cool. Due to US regulations the OEM bumper light only functions as reverse light. In the market outside the US in Europe and Australia it functions as a brake light or rear fog light. The fog light button in US cars is missing too.

Hey Faye, love the content, but I was wondering if this worked on the turn signals as well? I noticed the instructions show that it works with your hazards but if it works for the hazards then it should be the same for turn signals. If it is then it will flash for one signal and not the other. I hope this isn't the case, it looks great on there. Thank you for all the amazing upbeat content you release.

Kind of?!! It comes on with the parking lights but not while driving unless otherwise provoked, so it's like a parked fog light 😆

the axle on me 1994 ford thunderbird broke causing the wheel bearing to fall apart, so i cut up my 1/4 ratchet extension into new bearing pins and welded the axle back together with an old stick welder... after 5 miles the bearing pins were set in good and i also went and loaded 1500 pounds of rocks into the trunk of the car two times, it has a locked rear differential so the 400km drive to pick up 3000lb of large rocks was very hard on the tires 12'000 miles of tire ware in one 400km trip. 🤔 my Slavic bush mechanic work held up good. there was 360'000km on the original axle, it broke driving up the driveway after stopping at the local market. "would be better to have truck, but the motor in the car hasn't seen more then 1/4 of full load its whole mileage"

Looks really trick. Hopefully the plastic holds up over time. 👍

I have an Australian delivered one and at least on mine in sport mode that light turns red. I've only noticed it when my partner was reversing and i think the bottom ones and side ones were red. I'll see if i can find out more about it.

Hmm , by the look of it my patience would run out well before I got the tail light in so if you don't mind Faye when I buy my Supra would you replace it for me ? 😁

Folllowed the demonstration step by step. The F1 style brake blinks when the turn light on the side I tapped is on but no the other side. Any work around to this?

Just curious how the reverse light brightness compares with the OEM unit?

Love your videos Faye. The wiring for this F1 light is a sort of incorrect based on the manufacturer documentation - not your work at all. Once completed as ni the instructions and the video, you demonstrated what the F1 light does for the various funnctions (flashers, brake, running light, reverse) and all "looks good". What was NOT demonstrated was what the F1 light does when the turn signal is selected. In the configuration you (and I) wired, the F1 center section flashes with the left turn signal and is cpmpletely off for the right turn signal. If it was consistent, either flashing or not for both turn signals, I would be fine but it only flashes for the left. Further research indicates the brake signal wire needs to be spliced in further back on a wiring harness that is on the inside right of the trunk behind a side panel well ahead of the rear fuse block and just behind the cross brace on the wheel well. There is a black wire insdie a harness that needs to be spliced into the red brake light wire from the F1 light. The green wire from the F1 can be left unchanged. I still have to pull it apart again and re-wire and check but I wanted to pass along this information. Hope it helps someone who might find this inconsistency as irritating as I do! 😀
