mk3 Ford Escort 1.6 Ghia in standard form 30 - 100mph
This is setting the baseline 30 to 100 in a mk3 Escort 1.6 before undergoing modification.

That’s what I’m Talking about the 1.6 MK3 Ford Escort was no small time car, this is what cars are made of and back in the 80s were so Brilliant and no so sort after

I had an 89 1.6 orion and it could go like FXXK. I used to open the drivers window and here the purr of the CVH engine. Could cruise at 90 and whisper quiet.

that is very good even by todays standards, iam currently restoring my 83 1.6 ghia and hope it is good like yours :-)

Keeping it light to star with. XR3 carb and 4 branch manifold.

my old 1984 1.6 ghia mk 3 escort would never accelerate like that. it always ran out of puff over 5000 rpm. might have been the crappy standard carb ?

Interesting, what mods you doing? Mine does 0-100 in about 21 seconds IIRC according to the brochure which came with the TT kit.

this a 5 speed?
