Review of European car of the year 1981, but 40 years later. Is it still actual for modern daily use?
P.S.
This video contains instrumental cover of Mylene Farmer - Pas de doute, where rights belong to their owners and creators (not me :) ). This song have a personal link to specific moments of my happy childhood.

A friend had a Ghia version until parking it in town one-day it was stolen as many were at the time. Never saw it again. One key it seems fitted any car. Great econmical car did just what it was supposed to do. And then the motor industry lost the plot

Tell you what this escort certainly has more character and clean cut lines than most of the modern day bulbus boeing cars you see about

Interesting point of view, never heard of such name for these alloys. For most of Escort owners and fans, these are "cloverleaf". Even google search proves it. :)

@@user-hf3ep3qt3p anyway, it's quite interesting historical fact. Officially, there are no any specific name (bochures, parts catalogue). These name come from people imagination and interpretation. In post-Soviet area, these alloys are called differently too, but still, even here they mostly associate with clover leaf. :)

IF you know them, they are quite good. They got the ir bad reputation due to automatic choke. Just replace it with manual one and be happy!

I passed my test in one of these. The clutch was so heavy, my leg used to shake when waiting at traffic lights. I daren't put it in neutral in case i could find the correct gear when setting off.

In comparison with Golf mk5 and even mk2, Escort clutch is really heavy :D
