Mk.gee live at Great American Music Hall - San Francisco - 4/27/24
Фильм және анимация
The Mage has done it again in San Francisco. Again we waited patiently. This time to a more thunderous roar. The crowd shouted Alesis and the halls rang with magic
It was a blessing being able to play the mages guitar. Andrew Aged and Zach Sekoff were critical pieces to this trifecta.

yo wild you played the mage's axe
As a guitar player, thank you for this. Always helpful to see what wizardry he’s doing with that guitar lol. I was situated right in the middle of the crowd, got a perfect balanced sound. The man just might be 1 of 1.

Not exactly the best video to see what he’s doing on the guitar. And doesn’t a lot of the sound come from the old-school tape deck he uses as like a pre amp?
I'm going to his show in Durham next week. I'm a little older at 44 but he's insanely talented. I get early Prince vibes with him and it's so original. This and Tigers Blood from Waxahatchee are the best albums this year so far.

@@GoAndLive It was insane. Hard to describe it in a sentence but it was intimate and real. Those two things have been missing in my world and the shows I've seen in the last 10 years. I was also like a grandpa to those kids there lol.

weird the copyright for how many miles. must mean that it's s0 close to the studio version its considered forgery. Says a lot about Mk.gee's live performances, e.g. spot on. Can't wait to see him live.
His live show is fucking incredible.
i want to see him live so bad,but until turn this will do 🥲
For some reason I Want gives me Michael Hedges vibes. Such a beautiful song
You are absolutely amazing ❤
It's insane how much his tone and fills remind me of Tony Levin during Little Bit More.

@@wxbrewerI swear it’s as if the world has never seen a baritone guitar in existence lol
@wxbrewer
2 ай бұрын
@@VanBaylen I’m pretty sure it’s not actually a baritone. I think it’s a 60’s reissue Jaquar modded with baritone strings. Then it runs direct through a 90’s Tascam 4-track as his preamp/overdrive. I mean, whaaaa!?? 🤯
@VanBaylen

@@wxbrewer if you wanna get technical, sure it’s modified to be a baritone guitar, but nonetheless, it’s ultimately a baritone guitar after the conversion. And the sound that everyone trips about is actually really much credited to a pedal by a company called Rainger FX. It’s a reverb pedal that has a threshold that activates when strummed loud. Gives it that distorted sound. The Tascam is really only there to give the output some color and a bit distortion. But it’s not “the” sound everyone hears. He also uses a Boss BF 3 flanger I believe which also gives it that modified overtone to tie everything together .
Enjoying this a lot thanks! What a set. Do you know if one of the other musicians were playing bass or is the entire low end from Mike’s baritone guitar?
