This was my favourite MK announcer. I'd like it if they brought back an announcer with a super deep voice like this.

I don't think they will. From the gameplay we've seen and all the trailers, it sounds like the guy from MK 9, the last one, who was good too.

Wait it's been 6 years but did you reply to yourself? Edit: also yes, the announcer for MK9/X/11 is the same person: Jamieson Price. Also voiced Ermac in 9.

The PS2 era announcer was just outstanding. My goodness, it was wonderful. That deep, demonic voice made it too unique. The way he announces every finishing move, the way he commentates in the minigames, his little extra lines and evil laughs... It's just brilliant.

The voice sounds extremely, extremey violent and evil.

I miss this so much in the new ones. Literally the one thing I miss the most

If you look at Onaga's ending, the announcer actually sounds like him a little bit

His name is hernan sanchez he was an art director in addition to his mighty voice, I don't think he's still with the studio

GOD i love this announcer

Whoever did the voice for this game announcer did a epicly damn good job in scaring the shit out of me so bad I had to mute the whole TV to avoid hearing him. For making me think Mortal Kombat was a horror fighting game, One of my favorite game announcer voices because of it.

Some people are speculating that this could be Niles Casey.... who played Shao Khan, Quan Chi, Goro and pretty much Onaga. If this is the case... again, job well done.

It always had a dark and twisted atmosphere, one where nothing felt safe, nothing was assured, the hidden darkness It had was glorious. Nowadays even with more excessive detailed gore of modern games, it feels more like trying to be like movies and such. Has some disturbing and gruesome bits but most the time it's not close, least not officall story and lore Wise as it used to. I long accepted the mk series I knew is gone and like all others for different reasons abandoned it.

If only Deception had a sound test

It's Onaga, because he was the original outworld ruler.

I dont care if its nostalgia, i miss this era ofmortal kombat. The most atospheric and along the old timeline overall had that dark and twisted aspect inside.

It was only done in Mortal Kombat Deception & it's upgrade Mortal Kombat Unchained. Basically, the player that loses the match can commit seppuku (or suicide). Like every other finisher, the button sequence is different for each fighter.

Drew Childers Shao Kahn is supposed to be the Announcer. I suppose looking up Shao Kahn's VO would yield the Announcer's voice actor, as well.

Herman Sanchez! He was also a concept artist for the team going back to the arcade days. They replaced him for the announcer in MK9 and MKX for whatever reason. I don't think the announcer is meant to be Shao Kahn ever since MK4 either.

I think the voice clips are taken from the PS2 or Xbox versions since Shao and Goro are only available on the GCN version

I rather think it's be Onaga.
