Machine Gunner here, max range is 2212 meters, the area target (essentially where you can effectively engage a generally large area with the weapon) is 2212 meters. To effectively engage those three guys he was targeting though, they would have to be within 1500 meters (point target)

This almost seems archaic. We can land on Mars and this is the best we can come up with for battle lol. At the very least, have the gun fixed at an angle so you only need to make small adjustments the next time you fire. Weapons manufacturers are loving this. Fire 100 rounds to get several hits at best.

You really don't use them bud you line up your first shot then just hold position and you are good👌

Range is 1500-1700 meters at 3:40 in the video. Seven seconds between firing weapon and hearing explosion. If you account for the projectile velocity to target (750 m/s) and the speed of sound (343 m/s), approximately 2 seconds of the seven is spent by the projectile traveling 1500 meters. The remaining five are the speed of sound from explosion site to the operator of the MK19. This approximation does not account for deceleration of the projectile over distance, or the variation of speed of sound by temperature

Mk-19 can fire out to 2200m (google) small arms fire is hardly accurate at 300m and that's being generous. he was relatively safe even from a sniper getting a perfect shot off seeing as the only high ground was miles away. he probably felt relatively safe, since he knows those limits better than most.

I could be wrong, but it appears the operator's back is shielded. If the operator felt it necessary, they could turn their back towards the enemy while reloading.

Roger that. I remember watching an alley as I was guarding our flank in the middle of Ramadi, Iraq. Soon after we started getting shot at one of my legs started shaking uncontrollably and it wouldn't stop. I kept my weapon on the alley, I didn't feel all that scared, but my leg just shook for a few minutes. That was crazier than the indirect fire and bullets.

@@euphoricgunnut5898 Wut? What you talking about? 🤣 The sight slip on auto 40s isn't a design positive buddy! It's a pain in the a** design flaw. Hence why most get electrical or duct tape shimmed to stop it. Literally nothing to do with recoil causing damage.

Oh sorry boss. It the hinge pin for the top feed plate cover. That top flat piece on the receiver flips up and hinges on the spot where the pin popped out.

Imagine a version of that you could carry. Hard to fire, not worth the trouble but hell would you feel like a badass.

Hell we had to carry these things and just dig them in on post positions around the pause. Pro tip: if you don’t want to be the “Crew serve guy” don’t be one the biggest of the boot drop.

+Breeze Ark If you look on the lower portions of the vehicle, you can actually see that they're equipped with anti-RPG nets. I've forget the official name, but those little black discs actually cut into an RPG and disable the warhead, and the armor on the Humvee just receives a nice black scorching. I imagine that it might still be rather frightening to be hit by one, though.

the solider is surround by thick metal that can stop enemy bullets very little of his body is exposed and the enemy is out of engagement range with there wepons

+Serhan Ogan Not a whole lot you can do about that. He knows he's out of engagement range from their weapons, so he doesn't need to be too cautious.

+Serhan Ogan less of him is exposed as you think the camera is mounted on the top of his helmet and is further up than his head, so it looks like he is exposed, but not as much as you may think.
