There is also a metal version "Y" for sale, it is better than original metal but not as good as "G" metal. This has to be the most conclusive comparison between the original metal and the upgrade "G" metal. Magnets, drills and cutters!! What more can you ask for! Your showing three different tests performed is invaluable evidence. Great job. Like most people with this model on 3S, I stripped pinion gear on spur gear and rear differential gear very quickly. Like you, I have installed the "G" version metal parts (both diffs, spur, pinion and crown gears) and after much time driving, I have opened back up for inspection and there is some wear but absolutely no damage. 14401Y is much lighter and just as strong as the 14401G. The Y version has lightning holes so that it is not solid and heavy but still CNC cut steel so it will not strip. The G version is very heavy and you lose efficiency. You should consider getting the EAZYRC 1/18 Scale Chevrolet Colorado Offroad Monster Truck. It is only 135 USD with a brushless motor and metal gear servo. It is much tougher than the MJX Hypergo. It uses all CNC metal gears and is really fast. I bought 5 of them for Me, my wife, two sons and daughter. We have been bashing them at the skatepark for 7 months now not one broken part. Need new tires as they will wear out in concrete as we use them. It's an incredible little truck.

I was on 3s for about 8 packs and my 16208 sounded like it had a bad muffler. Saw your video, opened the gearbox and sure enough two teeth had grinded off my pinion gear. Getting this new one now, thank you!!

So just an update - the new pinion works great on 3s but the differential gears got chewed up. So you may end up needing to get the heavy duty version of that too. I don't think this thing was meant to run on 3s stock.

@@thepatternforms859 as far as I know it's newer, I got it around 4 months ago. But 3 of my friends have the same one and had the same problem after prolonged use on 3s.

Upgraded Diff from the mjx 1/14 series also recommend

the gears come in packs of 2 it looks like, If you make this replacement do you need to replace both front and back at same time or is having a mis match fine? would that just make the weak one break faster?

Is there another driveshaft? In mine the driveshaft is little bit too short ao the gears on the ends slip not fully on the driveshaft

Hallo Maker Fabio thank you for the information, did you upgrade your 16209 with the 16208 clipless body, because my 16209 was throwing off body clips like mad and on the last 3S run with it, it broke both the front and rear body mounts. Also on my son's 16208 the rear bevel gear at the end of the driveshaft came loose and ate up the large gear on the outside of the differential. Do you know why this gear comes loose because there does not seem to be any screw holding it in.

Hi Phillip. Actually i received the car with the clipless body already mounted (maybe i confused the model numbers on the video) . And i don t know why those gears come loose, it is a pity anyway. Now the new geat is holding good, lets see how long does it last and which other gear will brake

Ciao il corretto è 16401G, che è quello che ho ordinato. Ho visto ora che nel sacchetto avevano scritto 14401, che in realtá è quello per la 1/14 credo

I would replace with a new standard part there very cheap and the extra weight of the cnc gear will put extra stress on the motor as it’s heavier.

Hi, thanks for the considerations lets see if other parts (motor pinion)will fail due to the extra weight . I think that the cnc gear weight is negligible compared to the total rotating weight Time will tell, i ll keep the situation updated in the commenta. I think next to die will be the differentials
