MJ Lenderman & Wednesday, Rachel Kaly, Eliana Athayde (Episode 278)
Комедия
It was a full on musical revue this week with MJ Lenderman & Karly Hartzman (Wednesday) performing "My Voice Is A Little Horse" (0:04) and "Rudolph" (58:30) live in studio, guest musical director Eliana Athayde, and comedian/writer Rachel Kaly in the Doug seat. There were many laughs, an indie-rock-centric City of the Day (28:41) and we wrote a brand new holiday song live in studio.

Big time Wednesday/MJ Lenderman fan
Vic playing New York New York as Rachel describes witnessing the planes hit the towers on 9/11 is an all-time drop that will go down in history much like that fateful day

MJ Lenderman has been my favorite music discovery this year so far. Very cozy 'n' familiar vibes. Wasn't til this episode that I finally got to checking out Wednesday too, nice stuff in that same early Sparklehorse lane I always liked. Thanks team!
Awesome to see Karly and Jake do some songs they don’t normally play for live performances!
Woah I loved the acoustic Rudolph song

Sorry to heard Doug died. RIP.
rachel is my hero she's literally my hero and spiritually fills the roll of douge on all counts respectfully - ebert
the intro was lovely
The second half is worth watching to see Tim become Murray Wilson during the creation of the x-mas hit. Every time they get in a groove he stops it over & over. Gave me Help Me Rhonda flashbacks.

Rachel is so naturally funny! What a great episode!
Wednesday and MJ Lenderman are my new favourite artists ❤ Great acoustic performances by Karly and Jake. A very good episode overall, even though I miss Doug.
I lost it when Jerry went scuba diving.
My horse has a little voice. It's one of those miniature ones.

I was nervous when Jerry was petting the eel, but then he started stroking it and that calmed me down, a bit. ❤

The Gary Oldman/Jackson Lamb impersonation was spot on.

Your good friend Will Oldham took the photo for Spiderland, the Slint album you guys were discussing!
RLM/Heidecker crossover fans be sure to watch Vic's mid-show interlude. We have a very special appearance by Mark "Mouth in Motion" Lowry!
Santa Claus is crying remains the #1 chrissmus song on the market today!!!
Slints' tweez (the one albini produced) is really good. Just a different style than spiderland
DJ Sabrina Mentioned 😩
Vic's break videos are really good
Apparently Steve-o was going to be on club rando and requested Bill didn't smoke weed.... it was a deal breaker.

I prefer Tim clean shaven
I wish Rachel and Mj/Karly could just chat their conversation would be so much more interesting without the host!
3M really are adhesives experts, and I don’t think it’s tasteful to make light of it.
Is it truly subversive to be ironically edgy by doing comedy with a point of view from an ideology thats been stale for at least a decade? Or is it just a safe and lazy way to be a shill while maintaining the illusion of artistic integrity/comedic freedom? The Tim Heidecker Paradox
