I am using a bb fusion driver but have a tendency to pull shots so tend not to like draw bias (ps am left handed). But swing speed is in the range you mention and am looking for more consistency and also tend to have a downward attack angle - a symptom of strong iron shots and being naturally right handed. Looks like this is worth checking out as an option. Had been waiting to see what new drivers Srixon and titleist bring out soon - incidentally not that it matters but I use and love the mizuno clk hybrid. Any thoughts. Oh and yes had to cut down the length and adjust swing weights of my woods and hybrids partly being short. Misunderstood in particular strangely for a Japanese company seem to make their clubs long.

Great video guys. Quick question though, when you say mid speed can you be more specific? It sounds like it's be a good club for me. I'm inconsistent in my misses but at around 110mph is my club head speed in the range that this driver would work at?

Hey Hugh, we have seen the best results for clients in that 95-105 mph club head speed so it should be good for you as you are just over that but given the driver spins low the extra speed wont affect things. Remember to get that loft sleeve dialed in!!

Great review I’ve got the mizuno 180 got. Saw your explainination of set ups . My question is can you add more weight. Also if I don’t want to hook but want to hit it higher. do I split the two 7 gram weights. Regards Phil

You can’t really add weight or it could cause issues with the shaft tip. For a high hook shot: up the loft to highest loft number in the UPR setting and both weights in the heel side. Sorted 👍🏻

Hi I have a swing speed of around 90 - 95 mph with negative attack angle and tend to see a lot of my drives climb high. love the look of this . Do you think this could work ?

Hey Dale, for sure our man Dave has a negative attack angle too as you can see from the data on the ipad from TrackMan and it kept his flight flat so its certainly worth a look for controlling spin and launch from a negative attack angle. Let us know how you get on when you get a chance to hit it??

Hi Derek, I’m hitting my irons lovely, but after chasing a draw setup with my driver for years I now have a low hook, regardless of setup, so much that I’ve parked my Callaway driver, would this driver help me?

Loved the jpx900 but spin was too much comparatively for me....how big a difference have you seen this year in ST180 over jpx900?

Have a look at the 919 Forged for lower spin rate in Mizuno irons and the ST 180 had a lower spin and higher launch over the 900 head. More modern design and lower spin.

Stumbled across this video first impressions very professional. Any chance of reviewing taylormade new rbz black driver 2018 version seen it online

Thanks Alan. Good Q. The Fusion driver is a high MOI story so very stable with off center hits but it does spin and launch a little high as the weight chip at the back of the head that makes it high in MOI lowers and deepens the CG. Rogue is a kind of blending of the tech that is in Fusion and Epic so it does have a similar MOI story as the Fusion head but the spin is a little lower but will still spin higher and launch a bit higher ( loft dependent) than the Mizuno which is why there is a Sub-Zero design in Rogue. Bottom line is you have a very different internal and chassis design and technology across those 3 heads that we would match to the different player/swing style application for all 3 drivers. Hope that makes sense? I can see how we will need to look at this kind of product education going forward to help explain the difference - great food for thought....thanks.

Cheers Derek. I'm up with you on Thursday next, so I might have a go.

Derek how did this stack up against the Rogue SZ for distance on like for like swimgs. Have the Epic SZ but cant seem to turn the ball over with a fade towards the end of the flight. Much prefer a dreaw which i hit with the PING G on demand but the SZ is veey long with struck well

Rogue is a very similar style of design with a low spin setting. We find the SZ is a good fade bias product so it needs a strong swing style who hits up on the ball and a player who likes to release the club head and doesn't want a a hook as it favours a fade bias shot. We use SZ for strong ball strikers who want to keep the ball flight flat and spinning low and also don't like to turn the head over. Both the ST 180 and SZ will spin far lower than the Ping so will both go further if you need a lower spin rate. Ping is very stable and is easier to draw but will spin higher so your choice is more control or more distance.....tough call. You should test the Mizuno to see what it brings to your game as I feel it sits somewhere between your Ping and your Epic SZ. Keep me posted on how you get on?

would it be any good for a person with around 110-113 mph clubhead speed ? and which shaft would you recommend, feels like i have a bit too much spin with my current driver(around 3000rpm)

Yes, for sure. Maybe have a look at The Tensei White in stiff flex or even X and if you can handle keeping the weight higher then you will see the spin lower also.

Thank you for the answer, tried the Tensei white in x-flex with the Taylor made M3, worked fine with lower spin but didn't quite like the feeling of the M3

It is not that I do not appreciate your work, but if you fit ten people on a daily basis for six days per week and 52 weeks per year, together for the two of you that is 124.800 fittings... So I would say well south of. Nevertheless, thank you for your explanation and findings.

Good man Bob. Hard to explain in the videos but David & myself also worked on The European Tour for a few years so saw a lot more players than just 10 a day and we also do a number of corporate days with UPS and others where we might see up to 40 people a day and do three or four days of those a year so it all adds up I guess, hard to keep track of the exact numbers but I know by my grey hair and the amount of ranges I've stood on that I've done a lot of them. Glad you like the videos and information.Keep watching!!
