Miyako is a gift from God himself to metal music in general. She wrote some songs, has her little home studio, plays piano and guitar, bass, even drumms a little bit. 50% of all Lovebites songs she composed (riffs, solos, melodies, adding classical elements too whenever she can). Asami said something like: Every band needs to have Miyako, but only we have her. Lovebites makes metal beautiful again in so many great ways, best metal band in the universe right now...

Valhalla is the mythical Hall of fame where those who have died bravely in battle are rewarded in the afterlife in Nordic mythology. Lovebites borrow heavily from many different culture's myths and legends in their song writing and imagery. The term swan song itself refers to the Greek myth that a swan only sings once in its life just before it dies. Swan song has, from this myth, become synonymous with a final act. If you watch carefully you'll see Asami dance elements of the ballet routine "The dying swan" at the end of the song. This is the famous dance choreographed by Mikhail Fokine in 1905 for the legendary ballerina Anna Pavlova who preformed it over 4,000 times during her career. Many people think that it was choreographed for the ballet "Swan Lake" but this is incorrect. It was never part of Swan Lake originally although many companies have incorporated the dance into their interpretation of Swan Lake since. Asami is, of course, a trained ballerina and it's a shame, albeit an understandable one, that the camera focuses on Miyako on piano at the end of the song and we only catch a glimpse of Asami's beautiful dance. To see Asami in full ballerina mode check out the live version of "Frozen Serenade"; kzread.info/dash/bejne/c5ls0rOPpZC4fps.html

Thanks for the reaction! "Etude Op.10, No.12" ( or "Revolutionary Etude") by the Great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland. "Swan Song" ( lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from LOVEBITES third studio Album "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which Swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of Swans is amazingly beautiful. "Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together. In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the "death of the Swan", Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video. Asami added some Scandinavian mythology (Valhalla) to the lyrics. The attitudes towards death among the Japanese Samurais and the Scandinavian Vikings were very similar. For Samurais and Vikings, death in battle with weapons in their hands is a death worthy of a male warrior. Death in battle is better than death from old age in your bed. All Vikings dreamed of dying in battle because then they could go to Heaven, to Valhalla (the Hall of those killed in battle warriors) where they would meet God Odin and other Vikings who died in battles.

Fantastic reaction. Miyako is a neo-classical god.... Midori is a new-metal and hard rock god... and it amazes me that they two play together as well as they do.... despite Miyako's seemingly calm exterior, she is clearly an extremely strong personality underneath it all, and Midori is super showy on the outside as well as internally. Amazing to have both of them in the same group.

How gently she handles the keyboard, and how easily he moves directly to the guitar. Great Reaction, Gary! Me yah ko She composed this song, Asami wrote the Lyics - Miyako writes about half of their songs. Valhalla is Norse Heaven, where soldiers who die in combat go to party and celebrate their lives. The keyboards during the Chorus are a backing track - done by Miyako. Miyako started classical piano at age 3, bought a guitar @18, taught herself out of a book, and joined a Metalcore band. Miho (bass and Lovebites founder along with Haruna) knew Miyako and Midori from playing gigs at the same places with their old band, Light bringer. She invited them to join, then they got together to audition Asami, who had never sung metal before in her life. That is the start of Lovebites History. Fami started in Oct of 2022 after Miho left the band. 🤘🐺🤘

The Chopin piece performed by Miyako (guitar/keyboard) as the intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude" In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces. Chopin is informed of this news during his travels. he lost his place to return to When the Russian army invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents released "Etude OP10, No.12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because of the agent's exaggerated promotion of the song. Miyako composed "SwanSong" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony". Former ballerina Asami (vocals) wrote a poem inspired by Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim fatherland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can complete.

Of all of Miyako's musical compositions for Lovebites (over 20) this is still my favorite and probably my favorite Lovebites song in general. In my opinion, Miyako has composed three clear masterpieces - Swan Song, the closing track of the Electric Pentagram album, Dystopia Symphony from the Glory, Glory To The World EP and Soldier Stands Solitarily , the closing track of the new Judgement Day album. She is simply an amazing all around artist.

btw, when you start listening with good headphones your LOVEBITES experience will enter an even more intricate & enthusiastic phase... almost like hearing 'for the first time' all over again. I particularly notice more clearly Midori's hyper-tremolo-picked, palm-muted, arpeggiated 'rhythm' parts, often 'beyond' what many would call a 'lead' or 'solo'. Also, Haruna's cymbal work, usually heard as seen in an audience-view-of-stage spread, discovering how much she is 'supporting' the rhythm guitars, the vocal melody and her 'legendary' transitions using her many differently 'pitched' splash, crash, china & bell cymbals. She is 'melodic' !! The 'stereo mix' of all the LIVE recordings is as-good-as-it-gets, imo. Reminiscent of Cream, Wheel Of Fire LIVE with guitars 'panned' & drums spread across the stereo spectrum, just like sitting in the front row at a show (like I got to do seeing Cream in 1968!) How Asami projects her melodies over the top of the METAL ONSLAUGHT is part of what gives their "metal" such broad appeal, imo. 🐺

Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as the Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). For this performance, she actually played the Etude as a prelude, but it’s not normally included in their shows. All five members of the band are Jedi-level musicians, but I think Miyako is a once-in-a generation talent, a true savant.

That's right up there with one of the greatest things I have ever heard or seen in my life. Truly one of the greatest performances. It's up there with a handful of things that should go down in history. The talent on stage is just too much to believe sometimes, and the beauty of the harmonies, Asami's singing and her voice, combined with the power coming from Haruna and Miho is just unreal. My current favorite band, and I think the best metal band in the world. And yeah, they're all amazing, but Miyako's talent is otherworldly. So amazing. It's pretty hard to comment on any Lovebites reaction because I always say the same thing! Lol. Check out Frozen Serenade if you'd like another one like this, or, one of the "E" songs: Endless Daydream, Edge of the World or Epilogue.

Your comments have been assessed by an independent fact checker. Me. Miho was the bassist, not Fami 🙂 Miyako wrote the piece, not Fami (or Miho) 🙂 Valhalla is the resting place of Norse Warriors, not a battle, which is what Asami is alluding to. Yes, she did write the lyrics. Whilst the spotlight definitely shines on Miyako for what is a work of art, Haruna’s constant double pedal and fantastic mixture of fills puts her right alongside her. Poor Midori. Hers is a fantastic solo yet we hardly get to see her playing it. On the Heavy Metal Never Dies recording we see a little more, but still not enough to do her justice. Great reaction Gary. The penny is slowly dropping as to why the Wolfpack exists and is so vocal. Nobody else playing today does so to this standard this consistently. 60 songs, 60 bangers, always performed to this level… and now to an even higher standard.

According to Scandinavian mythology, in the heavenly Hall of the Warriors who fell heroically in battle (Valhalla), in the city of Asgard (City of the Gods), there were 800 of the most daring Vikings. Only the bravest Vikings who lived a life full of battles and heroic deeds and died heroically with weapons in their hands in a glorious battle could get into Valhalla. Everyone worthy of the honor to get into Valhalla was gladly met by the Supreme God Odin and greeted . Every day, as soon as dawn broke, all the Vikings put on armor, took swords and began to fight with each other. They fought with joy to prove to God Odin and other Vikings that they are brave and courageous warriors who are not afraid of death. This continued until no one was left alive in Valhalla. After another death, all the Vikings resurrected and feasted with God Odin. And so it goes on every day of their stay in Valhalla: 800 Vikings killed each other in duels, then resurrected, feasted and again fought many times to the death. Until Ragnarok comes (The End of the World and the Death of the Gods). It's very short.

The piano playing in "Swan Song" is Miyako's pre-recorded backing track. The backing track plays during the choruses in "Swan Song" (at concerts) when Miyako's hands are busy with the guitar. Miyako can't play piano and guitar at the same time. 🤗Although .......🤔 during the performance of ""Burden of Time" (Live concerts: DVD "Battle in the East", 2018 and DVD "Awake Again - Live from Abyss", 2020) Miyako plays keyboards solo with her right hand , and with his left hand takes the chords on the guitar. And does it at the same time.😲 ❗VALHALLA ❗According to Scandinavian mythology, in the heavenly Hall of the Warriors who fell heroically in battle (Valhalla), in the city of Asgard (City of the Gods), there were 800 of the most daring Vikings. The piano tune you hear in the middle of the song is a backing track which Miyako recorded. As amazing as Miyako is, I don't think she'll be able to play the lead guitar and piano at the same time (even though she came pretty close at another live stream but that's another story 😎 )

Not sure if just playing the cords counts as playing the guitar but it's probably just semantics. Anyway, I don't think there are too many people on this planet who can do what Miyako did in the Burden of Time at that live stream. It was just incredible

In fact, Midori not only possesses outstanding performance skills, but also has a strong presence on stage. Many people are initially more attracted to her. But Miyako, who has been training her fingers on the piano since childhood, also has exceptional guitar skills that are difficult to compare with Midori's. Miyako is also highly regarded as a composer. Having been familiar with classical music for many years, she realized the similarities between metal and classical music and entered the world of metal. She excels at composing pieces that are a fusion of metal and classical, with intricate structures and emotional melodies. This is another level neoclassical metal.

Notice from 9:33 to 9:46 the band is playing the same stuff, as earlier, and the only one driving the change is Haruna with her change ups. In the 2 handed tap section she does 3 changes. in the beginning of the song she doubles her kick speed from one measure to the next for 3. When that repeats close to the ending she alters her middle measure. She is a damn genius and I've said this song if you pay attention is a tour de force of Haruna's creativity. She has become my favorite in the band.

Their songs cover many sub-genres of the metal - power, thrash, symphonic, progressive, plus ballads and some that are more rock. (edit: grammar) The piano was recorded by Miyako and played back here as a backing track, until when she jumped back on the piano. Miyako's name is pronounced Me-yah-ko. My suggestion for another masterfully composed song - Frozen Serenade kzread.info/dash/bejne/c5ls0rOPpZC4fps.html. It's a slower song, or, is it? 🤔🤔🤫😁

Great reaction. I hold MakoDori, the guitar duo, as the best twin guitar attack. The name combines their names this way: Miyako (Mako) Midori (Dori). Miho was the bass player in this concert. She departed after the Ride For Vengeance Tour. She founded the band and Haruna was co-founder. Where Miyako has the edge is her composing skill and that she is a multi-multi-multi-instrumentalist. She plays guitars, keyboard, keytar, drums, bass and sings. Miyako wrote this song based off Chopin "Piano Etude Op. 10 No. 12" and Dvorak's New World Symphony. Chopin's "Piano Etude No. 10 Op. 12" is alternately titled Revolutionary Etude. It was based on The November Uprising (1830-31), also known as the Polish-Russian War 1830-31. This is about a Polish soldier who gave his life being looked at, probably, by the love of his life. Lovebites does have a lot of range from some blues rock, ballads, thrash metal, power metal, speed metal and melodic speed metal. These all female Japanese bands are killing it. Gave you a sub and a like.

Great reaction. These two titles make one set of suite sharing the one theme about death of heroes, dedication and sacrifice, honor and glory. Revolutionary Etude has a back story as Ahodori explained down below (the story also said to be fabricated later by a historian) and similar motif in the lyrics of Swan Song. The heroes can be anybody dedicate and sacrifice themselves to the others such as Polish cadets, Ukrainian soldiers, fire fighters and policemen in your town, or even your father and mother. These two songs also may be a suite musically starts with Chopin piano etude piano solo and ends with Chopin Ocean etude style piano solo. Try their Edge of the World kzread.info/dash/bejne/h46e2q-jctLWZ9o.html.
